Don't discriminate against Christian prayer

First, a federal district court declared the National Day of Prayer UNCONSTITUTIONAL a one-day-a-year tradition that has been part of Americas heritage since the founding of our country.

Now, the attack on prayer has become personal. The Armys invitation to Franklin Graham to lead the Pentagons National Day of Prayer events has been RESCINDED because hes not appropriate enough not inclusive enough in his beliefs. Hes been banned because anti-Christian groups are doing anything they can to tear Christianity from America!

Not only is the ACLJ preparing to file an amicus brief with an appeals court in support of the National Day of Prayer, were also working in the heart of Washington to send a powerful message to the Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon and to President Obama: Dont discriminate against Christian prayer!

LETTER OF PROTEST

To:
President Barack Obama
Robert Gates, Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon

As an American citizen who proudly supports the freedom that our country represents, I am deeply concerned by the decision to rescind the invitation to Franklin Graham to speak at the Pentagons National Day of Prayer events because of his exclusive Christian beliefs.

A time-honored and well-respected tradition like the National Day of Prayer is a constitutional right and should not be watered down simply because secularist groups aim to remove Christianity from our country. I respectfully and urgently request that the invitation to Rev. Graham be reinstated and that the prayer events on and around May 6 move forward as originally planned.
