The Squad’s Rep. Pramila Jayapal (WA-7) is rightly facing criticism from Democrats and Republicans after downplaying Hamas’ brutalities against Israeli women to CNN’s Dana Bash.

Fox News reports on the clash that ensued after Bash asked Jayapal about progressive women’s silence about Hamas’ violence against women:

The “Squad” Democrat suggested that wasn’t true and claimed she had already condemned Hamas’ treatment of women before quickly turning the conversation back to Israel.

“But I think we have to remember Israel is a democracy. That is why they’re a strong ally of ours. And if they do not comply with international humanitarian law, they are bringing themselves to a place that makes it much more difficult strategically for them to be able to build allies, to keep public opinion with them, and frankly, morally, we cannot say that one war crime deserves another. That is not what international humanitarian law says,” Jayapal said.

“With respect, I was just asking about the women, and you turned it back to Israel. I’m asking you about Hamas,” Bash said.

The lawmaker said she had already answered the question and added, “we have to be balanced about bringing in the outrages against Palestinians. Fifteen thousand Palestinians have been killed in Israeli air strikes, three-quarters of whom are women and children.”

“And it’s horrible,” Bash said. “But you don’t see Israeli soldiers raping Palestinian women.”

“I don’t want this to be the hierarchies of oppressions,” Jayapal said.

First of all, what’s taking place doesn’t involve “hierarchies of oppression.” Who started this conflict? Hamas terrorists who murdered 1,400 Israelis and mercilessly brutalized Israeli women and children. Nothing would have happened in Gaza if Hamas hadn’t attacked Israel.

Rep. Jayapal is the Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and a Co-Chair of the Women’s Working Group on Immigration. Still, she clearly had zero interest in recognizing the rights of the innocent women suffering at the hands of Hamas terrorists.

And even worse, you could detect an irritability in Jayapal’s answer. Her condescension toward assault victims is appalling. Her answer implied the Israeli women deserved what happened to them.

When will Jayapal be held accountable for her outrageous equivocation of Israel’s defense of itself to Hamas’ brutalities against women? And when will other so-called progressives for women’s rights speak out against Hamas? Unfortunately, their silence speaks volumes.

We have some very tragic news to report regarding one of the families of the hostages who we are defending. Many of you likely remember Doris Liber, who appeared with the ACLJ on the floor of Congress.

Doris told the world about how her son, Guy, had been shot and taken captive by Hamas. Unfortunately, she received confirmation recently that her son had passed away while in captivity.

Our hearts go out to Doris and her family. But we cannot stress enough the impact that her willingness to tell her son’s story had on motivating Congress, Qatar (who brokered the hostage negotiations), and other world leaders to act.

The hostages’ stories weren’t going to be heard in the mainstream media – Doris’ bravery ensured her son’s story was made public and effected change on behalf of the hostages. She is a hero, and we will continue to pray for her family in the days ahead.

The ACLJ’s efforts to save the hostages continue. We just sent a massive legal demand letter to the U.N. Security Council, and we are planning a trip to Europe this month to implore European councils to pledge their support to Israel and the remaining hostages. We praise God for the hostages who were freed during the ceasefire, and we will keep you updated on further developments.

ACLJ Counsel Geoff Surtees joined our broadcast to report on a recent pro-life victory in Kentucky. We have been defending pro-life counselors fighting against an abortion buffer zone that bans pro-life counselors from ministering to expectant mothers outside of abortion clinics in Louisville.

We already won a temporary injunction in this case, but now it’s going to trial. Today our trial briefs are due in this important case that will have implications nationwide.

We are in the middle of our Faith & Freedom Year-End Drive. Your generous support enables us to combat antisemitism in America, defend Israel and the hostages, and advocate for the pro-life movement. Any gift you give today will be doubled.

Today’s Sekulow broadcast fully analyzed Jayapal’s disgusting comments and the ACLJ’s ongoing efforts to rescue the hostages and advocate for the pro-life movement. Former Acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell also joined to discuss a recent Houthi attack in the Red Sea, and Senior Counsel for International and Government Affairs Jeff Ballabon gave an update on Israel’s mission to defend itself from future Hamas attacks.
