I, along with I am sure many others, just received a breaking news alert from the Wall Street Journal on President Obama’s trip to Israel.  The headline: “Obama: Israel has a Right to Defend Itself.”

Nothing could be a clearer example of the sad state of affairs of this Administration’s abysmal record on Israel than this.  It is breaking news that the President of the United States has acknowledged that our greatest ally in the Middle East has the right to defend itself.

From the anti-Israel Hagel nomination to cautioning Israel on how it deals with Iran’s nuclear program, President Obama’s “support” for Israel has been lackluster at best and has emboldened Israel's sworn enemies to action.

In five years as President, this is the first trip by President Obama to Israel.  His absence from Israel while at the same time making his trip to radical Egypt one of the first key moments of his Presidency has certainly not gone unnoticed by the Israeli people and those who would have them destroyed.

The President has made his priorities clear over the past five years, and one trip to Israel and a press conference doesn’t change that fact.

The American people expect more than mere words Mr. President.
