While America is a nation of immigrants, those who come here seeking opportunity and freedom must pursue a legal pathway to citizenship. Now, this issue has the attention of the Supreme Court of the United States. The high court has agreed to hear an important immigration case out of Arizona, Chamber of Commerce v. Whiting, Case No. 09-115.
The ACLJ is supporting the state of Arizona in its effort to protect its citizens and defend its borders - something the federal government has repeatedly failed to do. We will be filing an amicus brief in this Supreme Court case and will also continue to stand in support of Arizona's defense against lawsuits targeting the new immigration law recently approved.

COMMITTEE TO PROTECT AMERICA'S BORDERS
The Obama Administration is leading the charge against an Arizona immigration law that requires employers to verify their workers' immigration status - and now the Supreme Court of the United States has agreed to hear this important case, Chamber of Commerce v. Whiting, Case No. 09-115.
While we believe that America is a nation of immigrants, we also firmly believe there's a legal way to become a citizen of this country. The Arizona law is designed to protect the states borders and keep American jobs from going to illegal aliens. In fact, at least five other states have similar laws in place.
The people's elected representatives in Arizona passed a bill against illegal immigration; their governor signed it into law. It is a sound, constitutional move toward effectively securing the borders, a responsibility that the federal government has repeatedly failed to assume.
The simple truth is that no provision of the United States Constitution is being violated by Arizona's immigration policy. We support the ACLJ's opposition to this challenge and to the other challenges being brought against Arizonas new immigration law.
