Cross the U.S. Border Illegally, Get a FREE SMARTPHONE
The Biden Administration’s master plan to deal with the surge of illegal immigrants at our southern border is to provide them with smartphones. Why? Presumably so that they can track them and check in with them, and so that the immigrants know when their hearing is coming up.
If that plan were to be implemented, it would have to be assumed that those illegal immigrants won’t sell the phones or just get rid of them in order to not be tracked. When Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki if there was any concern that these migrants would do exactly that and toss the phones, she responded:
Do you have a record of people throwing phones away? Our concern is ensuring that individuals who irregularly migrate to the United States proceed through our process of, you know, of course, being monitored, but also participating in hearings to determine whether or not they will be able to stay.
The Biden Administration has not only considered handing out phones to illegal immigrants, but could also be removing Title 42, as we’ve previously told you. By removing Title 42, it has been estimated that reportedly 18,000 migrants will cross the border per day. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas gave his thoughts about this potential surge at the border when he was asked in an interview with CBS News:
It is very difficult to predict what that migration will be. But we are planning for different scenarios. We are then at the border surging resources. What distinguishes us from the past is that we will not implement policies of cruelty that disregard our asylum laws. We are rebuilding a system that was entirely dismantled.
If treating the situation with more humanity is the goal, then overwhelming the border is not the answer. ACLJ Chief Counsel and my dad Jay Sekulow summed it up:
Securing a border is not cruel; it’s smart.
House Minority Whip Representative Steve Scalise (LA-1) joined Sekulow to discuss the Biden Administration’s handling of the border crisis:
Another completely self-created crisis by Joe Biden. Joe Biden walked into a secure American border. President Trump, when he came in, there was an open border. You’ve seen the pattern Obama, Biden – they want open borders. They want to have no national security, no ability to secure our border. Trump comes in and says: You know what? We are going to start securing the border and building a wall. . . . He actually got an agreement with Mexico, the Remain in Mexico policy, so instead of coming into America to seek asylum, you stay in Mexico. . . . What happened? Most of the claims for asylum are fake. . . . People knew that, so they said: We know that the game is over–we can’t come to America–so they didn’t come to Mexico; they just stayed in their countries. Again, if you want to come to America, there is a legal way to do it. We let over a million people a year into the country. We are more generous than anywhere in the world, but we are a nation of laws. And we have got to get back to those laws.
So, even though the media won’t cover the border crisis, we will always provide you with the facts. The media has a tendency to be biased when they are choosing which topics to cover. For instance, the Hunter Biden laptop scandal was not even picked up by journalist Anne Applebaum because she “didn’t find it to be interesting.”
ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy and former Acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell countered this example of partisanship in media by journalists:
I think that it is high time that we completely dismiss all of these D.C. types who are never going to change. Let’s be honest. The Anne Applebaum’s of the world, the New York Times, the Atlantic . . . . all of this content is literally Third World propaganda for the Democrats. We know this. Why do we pound our heads asking them to change? I think what is best, is that we out their hypocrisy; we dismiss them. Then, we look to get the real story out in different ways. We cannot rely on them any longer. We have to be able to get the truth out in other forms.
Ric added:
Look, this is a shameless plug into the ACLJ. But I’m telling you, if you don’t have the ability to fund content creators like the ACLJ, then you are going to rely on the CNN’s, and APs, and the Anne Applebaums of the world to spin false stories. This is why two years later, we are still talking about whether or not this story is true; and 18 months later, we are still havin reporters deny Hunter Biden’s laptop is relevant content. So, I say we just dismiss them, stop paying off their paywalls, and start supporting content creators like the ACLJ. This is something you get for free, but you should give and make sure we have the voice and the ability to really push out the correct content – the truth.
