You haven’t heard it from our President or the mainstream media, but there’s still a massive crisis at America’s southern border.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection just released new numbers for the month of February; and compared to this time last year, they’re staggering. Last month, agents encountered 164,973 undocumented immigrants along the southwest border – that’s a 7% increase over January and a 61% increase compared to February 2021.

At the ACLJ, one of our biggest missions is to keep you updated on the chaos that goes on, and we’ve been working hard to hold the Biden Administration accountable. We recently filed a major lawsuit against the Administration regarding their role in the humanitarian disaster, but, of course, they haven’t responded.

We’ve also filed THREE Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to different Biden Agencies – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) – which you can view here, here, and here, demanding answers on why President Biden is not putting up a fight to combat the crisis. In fact, he’s doing just the opposite.

Remember when we reported that President Biden actually suspended Operation Talon? This was a Trump-era policy that specifically targeted known sex offenders attempting to infiltrate our border. Aside from suspending Operation Talon and “filling in gaps” where President Trump’s border wall wasn’t complete (aka – building the wall), Biden has made zero moves.

Mr. President, when you were running for office, you shunned border policies implemented by Donald Trump that WORKED. You’ve undone any progress that was made.

While the headlines regarding the crisis at our southern border have all but disappeared, and it’s never asked about or mentioned during White House press briefings, the situation hasn’t improved. It is still dire. It continues to spiral. I am in no way diminishing the war in Europe or saying one is worse or more important than the other. Both deserve to be talked about every single day, but while the world’s attention is focused on Ukraine, coverage of what’s happening at our southern border has virtually ceased while the crisis rages on.  That CANNOT and should not happen.

Children are dying while trying to make their way across the desert. On March 10th, CBP officers in Eagle Pass, Texas, recovered the body of a four-year-old in the Rio Grande. The mother told authorities they were trying to cross when she dropped the child, and they were swept away.

Officers are constantly catching criminals trying to sneak into the United States who have been previously arrested or are currently wanted for homicide, sexual child abuse, narcotics distribution, and robbery. More often than not, they’ve already made it inside the U.S.

On March 8th, Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a felony-convicted sex offender who tried to cross illegally with a group of undocumented individuals near Freer, Texas. On March 2nd, Rio Grande Valley agents arrested three gang members and three migrants who have been convicted of sexual crimes, including aggravated criminal sexual assault of a child 13-16 years old.

By the way, if you didn’t know, the CBP provides the public with this information. You can read all about the mayhem for yourself at their website under the “media releases” section.

Again, the fact that these things are happening isn’t NEW. It’s just a stark reminder that it’s still happening every day, it hasn’t gotten any better, and the Biden Administration is ignoring it. Please tell me the last time you remember President Biden (or anyone from his circle) speaking out against the southern border crisis. I’ll wait.

Meanwhile, at the ACLJ, we will continue to do everything in our power to hold this Administration accountable for the horrific border crisis they have created.
