Deep State FBI Teams Up With Left-Wing Senators To Delay Hearing for President Trump’s Nomination of Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence

They’re now targeting our colleague Tulsi Gabbard, delaying her FBI background check. The radical Left in the Senate is now using this to delay her confirmation hearing for Director of National Intelligence.

We’ve worked closely with Tulsi as a national security expert for nearly two years through our Sekulow broadcast. We know she has what it takes.

But we also know the Deep State has been trying to take her down.

ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell highlighted the growing political struggle over Tulsi Gabbard's nomination as the Director of National Intelligence. Despite Tulsi’s extensive qualifications, including over 15 years of military service and top security clearances, she faces strong opposition from far-Left Senators, particularly on the Intelligence Committee. Grenell, a former acting Director of National Intelligence, discussed the broader implications of this battle, which go far beyond Tulsi herself and touch on the more critical issues with U.S. national security.

Axios recently reported that Leftist Senators claim she hasn’t provided the required vetting materials. This is false. She has already submitted her portion of her background check and the initial pre-hearing questionnaire. However, as Axios further notes, “[Sen.] Warner has pointed out that the committee has not yet received Gabbard’s FBI background check. . . . Committee rules require the background check a week in advance of a hearing.” The Deep State FBI has delayed her background check. This attempt to delay Tulsi’s confirmation could push the hearing to next week or beyond.

Grenell acknowledged the danger of a presidential transition, especially as the Biden Administration approaches its final days. “It’s always a dangerous time during a transition,” he said, pointing out that the far Left is trying to block a new Administration from hitting the ground running. The opposition, Grenell argued, isn’t just about Tulsi – it’s also about obstructing ANY new leadership that could disrupt the warped status quo in Washington, D.C., particularly within national security.

With that said, the resistance to confirming key Cabinet positions, such as the Director of National Intelligence, is a MAJOR issue. “If you cannot get your Cabinet and deputies confirmed, you cannot effectively run your agencies,” Grenell said, explaining that without these prominent figures in place, a new Administration will undoubtedly struggle to take control of federal agencies, which are often filled with holdovers from the previous regime.

This type of bureaucratic obstruction was a big challenge for the Trump Administration in its earlier days, especially with the Russia investigation. If Tulsi’s confirmation is obstructed too, national security efforts will be hindered while important roles remain unfilled.

The fight over Tulsi’s nomination is only a microcosm of America’s larger national security struggles. The U.S. is dealing with evolving newer threats like the resurgence of Islamic terrorism and the increasing threat of drug cartels. Yet intelligence agencies continue to focus on domestic political issues like tracking American citizens and censoring free speech when what we really need is for them to address the REAL security threats. If confirmed, Tulsi would be in a prime position to hold intel agencies accountable and ensure that national security efforts focus on actual threats.

The far Left’s refusal to hold a hearing for Tulsi is outrageous. She has the necessary qualifications and has proven she is worthy. The delay is nothing more than a political tactic to block change and maintain control within the bureaucracy. It’s obvious that this obstruction is just an element of the broader attempt to prevent the Trump Administration from implementing its national security policies. The U.S. needs leaders who will fight for the right priorities, and Tulsi is someone we can trust to do just that.
