A New Year Brings Change and Challenges – the ACLJ Is Ready To Fight
Listen tothis article
It’s hard to believe, but 2024 is already over. It’s been a particularly busy year for the ACLJ, continually full of surprises – some good, many not so good – and the year’s end is a perfect time to pause and take stock of the battles fought and victories won, thanks to the support of our ACLJ Members and ACLJ Champions.
This was a major year for the ACLJ. In 2024, we were directly engaged in:
- 175 Pro-Life Legal Matters
- 197 Free Speech Matters
- 142 Religious Liberty Matters
- 126 Legal Actions Battling the Deep State
- 152 Legal Letters and Briefs Defending Israel
And we obtained numerous legal victories, including:
Ensuring all candidates – including President Donald Trump – were included on multiple state ballots as the Left waged a duplicitous campaign to have Trump disqualified.
Exposing the Deep State for using U.S. Army training seminars to label pro-life groups, such as our client Operation Rescue, and even individuals with something as innocuous as a pro-life license plate or bumper sticker as “terrorists.”
Successfully representing Agent Marcus Allen, who bravely testified about Deep State corruption and bias within the Biden FBI.
Add to that the many cases we took on this year – and won – defending your rights to display religious symbols and messages, to organize Bible studies in senior living centers, to hold praise and worship services on public land, as well as securing a student’s right to pray and take their Bibles to school.
We are walking into 2025 grateful not only to God for these many legal victories but also to you for providing the resources we needed to wage the battles. We’re hopeful that under the incoming Administration these clandestine initiatives against Christians and conservatives will cease.
But what we are not doing is entering the new year with our guard down. Not for a second. The ACLJ is currently engaged in multiple major pro-life cases – including at the U.S. Supreme Court – that could save babies, cripple Planned Parenthood, protect pro-life medical workers, and defend pro-life pregnancy centers.
And we’re currently launching our most aggressive multimedia campaign yet to save innocent babies after the state of Massachusetts launched an unconscionable smear campaign against pro-life Pregnancy Resource Centers (PRCs). Massachusetts is spending millions to spread disinformation and fear about PRCs. This attack cannot go unchallenged. We have also filed a lawsuit against the state. We must defend PRCs, shut down this state-sponsored propaganda, and amplify the truth before similar campaigns appear in other states.
This year we’ll redouble our efforts to defend the countless innocent Christians facing oppression, abuse, violence, and even death because of their faith. Right now, our legal teams in Pakistan continue to fight for two young Christians – Shahzad Masih and Ahsan Masih – both sentenced to hang under the nation’s Islamic blasphemy laws.
And that’s barely scratching the surface. We know we have daunting challenges ahead, and those are just the cases we know about. We cannot even guess what curveballs 2025 has in store, but Scripture assures us:
“‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.’”
– Jeremiah 29:11
No matter what the coming year brings, we will meet every challenge, ready to fight.
On behalf of the ACLJ, thank you for your unwavering support, and I wish you and your loved ones a Happy New Year!
