It is unconscionable that a school has added the Bible to the list of books that cannot be read during the "Reading for Pleasure" time in the 9th grade Honors English Class. Furthermore, it is wrong to ask the parents to sign their names to a document that states the Bible as "unacceptable reading material." This is a blatant First Amendment violation! I stand with the ACLJ and call on your school district to cease and desist this policy of including the Bible on the "do not read" list.
