Bill To Stop Unlawful Executive Order

1421255875347

(Washington, DC) – The American Center for Law & Justice (ACLJ), which focuses on constitutional law, today applauded the U.S. House of Representatives which approved amendments that prohibit any taxpayer funds from being used to implement President Obama’s unconstitutional action on immigration reform.

“The House is sending a powerful message to the President – an impatient President cannot unilaterally change the law,” said Jay Sekulow, Chief Counsel of the ACLJ. “From the beginning, it was clear that the President’s action on immigration was unlawful and unconstitutional. And today’s vote in the House represents a critical move to address this unconstitutional power grab by the President. We call on the Senate to do the same. The President must be held accountable for his actions.”

The ACLJ is actively challenging President Obama’s actions. The ACLJ represents 68 members of Congress in an amicus brief supporting a lawsuit filed by more than 20 states challenging the President’s overreach with immigration. And, in December, ACLJ Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow testified before the House Judiciary Committee providing a legal analysis on why the President’s actions are unconstitutional.

Led by Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow, the American Center for Law & Justice is headquartered in Washington, D.C. and online at aclj.org.
