A New Jersey school district recently demonstrated hostility towards people of faith. It appears that in Burlington Township in New Jersey, the School District conducted a mock hostage taking. Taking precautions over school violence is certainly important. However, this particular school district decided that in their mock hostage taking, the group that engaged in the activity was right-wing religious fundamentalists. In fact, allegedly the group came in and took students hostage because one of the members of the organization's daughter was suspended for praying before the school day.
No other group in America would tolerate this kind of hostility. The School District's mock hostage taking program targeting Christians as the perpetrators is outrageous. We are mobilizing tens of thousands of Americans to stand up against hostility towards religion. Please read the form below carefully and declare your membership with the ACLJ by signing our Letter of Outrage against religious intolerance.

Dr. Christopher Manno Superintendent, Burlington Township School District
We, as members of the American Center for Law and Justice, stand with the ACLJ against religious bigotry. Christian Conservatives being portrayed as terrorists is unacceptable and hostility towards any religion is wrong.
The fact that you chose a religious fundamentalist group is more than regrettable it is offensive, even more so, when you consider the impression and message you are sending to the students whose lives you impact everyday. We urge you to show more compassion and respect toward your students and community.
