• We are fighting to preserve our National Motto, "In God We Trust." We have recently filed our amicus brief in the case of Newdow v. U.S. Congress. We're representing your view as well as members of Congress.
  
  The ACLU, along with other like-minded groups, would celebrate a Newdow victory. It would give them tremendous momentum in their mission to eradicate God altogether from our national landscape.
  
  We know that Dr. Newdow will take this case all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States if necessary, so we are already preparing to argue for your values there - laying the constitutional legal groundwork now.
  
  
• We're still engaged in the struggle to preserve the cross at the Mt. Soledad war memorial in San Diego - defending the honor of our nation's war heroes.
  
  Even though the President of the United States signed legislation - which we helped put forward - to protect the Mt. Soledad cross, the ACLU filed yet another lawsuit, this time asking for this federal law to be declared unconstitutional.
  
  The ACLU has targeted the ultimate symbol of sacrifice - a cross - for public banning!
  
  Within weeks, we must file our amicus brief in the case of Trunk v. City of San Diego - representing you and members of Congress. We must prepare now!
  
  
• At the same time, we are working to see Planned Parenthood defunded - so your tax dollars no longer flow into an abortion operation.
  
  Planned Parenthood has received an astonishing $500 million of our tax dollars over the past two years.
  
  So we are working alongside Sen. David Vitter on a congressional bill which would STOP this outrageous taxpayer funding to Planned Parenthood. We would love to see this bill passed in December before the new Congress is in session.
  
  
• Meanwhile, we're preparing for a major partial-birth abortion ruling from the Supreme Court of the United States - a ruling which will almost certainly have enormous ramifications for other cases on this significant issue.
