I want to inform you about a critical victory in Washington.

We opposed the nomination of Erroll Southers as the new head of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) - the agency charged with keeping American travelers safe from terrorism.

And this morning Southers released a statement saying he was withdrawing his name from consideration and will not pursue efforts to become head of the TSA.

In just one week, nearly 4,000 Americans signed on to our petition opposing the nomination of Southers.  There were a number of troubling issues and many red flags - specifically regarding his views on terrorism.

In fact, according to new reports, Southers viewed pro-life Christians and our support of Israel as a bigger threat to national security than Al Qaeda.  And thats not all there are also disturbing reports that the nominee thinks America itself is to blame for terrorists attacks.

The American people understand that now more than ever our national focus must be centered on protecting America.

We're very pleased that Erroll Southers will not become head of the TSA.  And, thanks to the thousands who stood with us in opposition to this nomination.  Your voice was heard!
