Politico - At SCOTUS, Few Signs of Government Shutdown

As the Supreme Court opened its new term Monday, an observer would have been hard pressed to realize that a partial government shutdown has shuttered much of official Washington.
Chief Justice John Roberts made no mention of the situation as the gavel fell at the strike of 10 A.M. and he declared he had "the honor to announce" the end of the court's October 2012 term and the opening of the October 2013 one. He also formally announce the appointment of the court's new clerk, Scott Harris. . . .
American Center for Law & Justice Director Jay Sekulow, a prominent socially conservative attorney, moved the admission of a group of Regent University lawyers—including his son, Jordan. . . .
