(Washington, DC) – The American Center for Law & Justice (ACLJ) said the death of Justice Antonin Scalia represents “a sad day for our nation” and he will be remembered for his passion for justice and the rule of law.

“This is a sad day for our nation as we mourn the loss of one of the country's most brilliant and ardent supporters of the Constitution,” said Jay Sekulow, Chief Counsel of the ACLJ.  “I had the honor and privilege of knowing Justice Scalia for the more than 25 years that I have practiced before the court. Justice Scalia had a keen understanding of what our Founding Fathers intended and dedicated his life to carrying out the rule of law. Justice Scalia will be deeply missed by so many who understood and respected his passion for justice and the rule of law.”

Led by Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow, the American Center for Law & Justice focuses on constitutional law, religious liberty, and pro-life issues and is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
