Justice Alito

The confirmation of Judge Samuel Alito as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court is an important victory for the nation and the high court.  There is no question that Justice Alito will serve the nation and the high court with honor and distinction.  It is disappointing that some Senators caved in to the far left ideologues who opposed Judge Alito.  Even so, this is an important and proud day for America. 

We know that the conservative judicial philosophy that Judge Alito embraced as a federal appeals court judge for 15 years will serve as the cornerstone of his tenure on the high court.  Judge Alito understands the limited role of the judiciary and is committed to interpreting the Constitution, not rewriting it. Those values will serve him well as Justice Alito begins his work on the Supreme Court.
