SHOCKING POLL: The Left Is Done With Biden
Is President Joe Biden too old? A shocking Wall Street Journal poll of 1,500 registered voters shows that 2/3 of Democrat voters believe Biden’s age should deter him from seeking a second term in the White House. At the same time, less than 50% of voters believe former President Donald Trump is too old to run in the 2024 presidential election, which is a significant contrast.
Even two-thirds of Democrats say President Biden is too old for a second term, as the 80-year-old commander-in-chief remains tied with Donald Trump in a potential matchup, a new bipartisan poll shows.
The Wall Street Journal survey published Monday found that 73% of registered voters — including two-thirds of Democrats — believe Biden is too elderly to run again for the presidency. Just 47% say the same of the 77-year-old Trump.
Voters clearly care about how Biden’s age impacts his ability to do the job as President – how he moves around, conducts himself, and communicates.
The same survey also shows that Biden and Trump are tied head-to-head, despite Trump’s four indictments and the scandals surrounding the Biden Administration and Hunter Biden.
The poll, which surveyed 1,500 registered voters, shows that if the election were held tomorrow, the race would be a dead heat at 46% apiece for each candidate, with 8% undecided — even after Trump was criminally indicted for a fourth time.
How crazy is it that with all that’s going on no one could call the election if it were held today? Now we haven’t seen a state-by-state breakdown of polls with Biden and Trump, but the two-tiered system of justice is clearly impacting the primary election for Republicans.
Let’s also talk about how age could impact the election regarding who’d take over for Biden if, God forbid, something should happen. Who would fulfill that role? One of the most unpopular VPs in American history: Kamala Harris. The fear of a Harris presidency could sway voters.
Despite all the talk about whether Biden will run again, I have a hard time believing he will not be the Democrat Party’s nominee unless something dramatic happens. So who would be the best Democrat challenger? Governor Gavin Newsom in the worst-run state in the country, or Michelle Obama with zero political experience? We’ll definitely keep an eye on what develops.
We also discussed the possibility of Saudi Arabia making a major peace deal with Israel. Of course, who is trying to disrupt the peace talks? None other than the Palestinian Authority (PA), which seeks to undermine and destroy Israel. Even the Saudis cut off funding for the PA years ago because they recognized the danger and corruption of the PA.
ACLJ Senior Counsel for International and Government Affairs Jeff Ballabon joined the broadcast to talk about the budding relationship between Israel and Saudi Arabia:
Saudi Arabia is an American ally, even if we don’t necessarily share values. It’s a strategic ally, and, specifically, they're concerned about Iran, and Iran wants to have hegemony over this area. And Saudi Arabia, therefore, along with Egypt and Jordan, help with America and, now increasingly, Israel. So Israel and Saudi Arabia, their relationship has always been sort of behind closed doors very useful, if not friendly. Now it’s getting even warmer than it was before. Saudi Arabia is allowing Israeli Airlines to fly over Saudi airspace, which never used to happen. And although Saudis are not fully part of the Abraham Accords, there seem to be suggestions that might get closer to that.
This historic peace deal between the State of Israel and Saudi Arabia would be a monumental achievement for these nations and the world. We need more countries in the Middle East to continue to recognize the sovereignty of Israel. We also hope the Biden Administration does nothing to prevent this deal from being reached.
Today’s Sekulow broadcast featured a discussion with ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell about alarming world news involving China and North Korea. ACLJ Senior Counsel and Director of Policy Harry Hutchison also joined to talk about how the federal deficit is set to double unexpectedly this year.
