Radical-Left Members of Congress Hint They Would Not Certify a Trump Win

According to an Axios bombshell, several top far-Left Members of Congress are hinting that they wouldn’t certify an election victory if Trump wins the White House.

For example, Rep. Jamie Raskin (MD-8) said that if Trump “won a free, fair and honest election, then we would obviously accept it.” He then followed up by saying that he “definitely” doesn’t expect Trump to win in such a manner. Don’t forget that Raskin objected to Trump’s certification in 2017 and also led the impeachment efforts of Trump in 2021.

Rep. Jim McGovern (MA-2) also said that most of his party will commit only if “everything goes the way we expect it to.” So again, more stipulations are being added on whether or not the Left will accept the results. And only if they approve of the electoral process.

These are very troubling statements from high-ranking Members of Congress that come on the heels of Trump surging in the polls in battleground states. You can bet that they will be doing everything in their power to use the legal system to ensure that Trump doesn’t win the White House again.

ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell reacted to the far-Left Members of Congress refusing to commit to certifying the 2024 election results:

What Jamie Raskin and the Democrats are doing is exactly what they accuse Republicans of doing. And yet, here we go again. They’re pointing the finger at us, but look what they’re doing. They’re undermining democracy already. They’re laying the groundwork that if Trump wins, there’s going to be a case by Democrats to say he cheated, and, therefore, the election should not be certified. I thought we just went through four years of the media constantly asking every Republican: Did this past 2020 election come off without a hitch? . . . But the people in charge right now are the Democrats. Remember that the Democrats control the White House. They control the majority of county officials in the swing states, where this vote is going to be watched very closely.

Ric also pointed out that he’s hearing that officials in Philadelphia are saying they won’t be able to count all the votes on election night. We need to be on alert to make certain that each vote is counted properly. That’s why we need strict voter ID measures in place.

Another major far-Left politician is making headlines by attacking the electoral process: Minnesota Governor Tim Walz recently called to abolish the Electoral College. At a California fundraiser, the far-Left running mate of VP Harris said, “I think all of us know the Electoral College needs to go. We need, we need national popular vote, but that’s not the world we live in.”

Shortly thereafter, Walz had to walk back his statement, insisting that “my position is the campaign’s position” and assuring all voters that each vote “matters.” But what does Walz truly believe about the Electoral College?

The Founding Fathers brilliantly knew from the beginning that a popular vote would not properly represent all Americans. That’s why they established the Electoral College, safeguarding from the possibility of densely populated states like New York and California deciding a presidential election.

We are 25 days from Election Day. The attacks on our election results and the Electoral College will only ramp up further. We must be able to trust our electoral process to keep from descending into a banana republic.
