After still more classified documents were discovered in President Joe Biden’s personal residence, Congressman Jim Jordan has taken action, launching an investigation as his first action in his new position as Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.

As reported by Fox News:

The investigation led by Jordan, R-Ohio, comes one day after Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed a special counsel to examine the matter, former U.S. attorney Robert Hur. The Justice Department escalated it to a special counsel investigation from a mere review Thursday after a second stash of classified documents was found inside the garage of Biden's Wilmington, Delaware, home. The first documents were found inside the Washington, D.C., offices of the Penn Biden Center think tank.

"We are conducting oversight of the Justice Department’s actions with respect to former Vice President Biden’s mishandling of classified documents, including the apparently unauthorized possession of classified material at a Washington, D.C., private office and in the garage of his Wilmington, Delaware, residence," Jordan and Rep. Mike Johnson, R-La., wrote in a letter sent Friday to Garland.

The news comes after another five classified documents had reportedly been found at Biden’s home on Saturday. It’s not enough that it seems President Biden has classified documents lying all over the place, but he and his Administration committed the cardinal sin in politics of claiming that all classified docs had been located and there’d be no more popping up anytime soon. And then came Saturday.

As my dad, ACLJ Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow, pointed out, Biden’s stories don’t hold water and his lawyers should be a little more careful before they make public statements, especially if their client continues to continually forget about other classified documents in his possession:

How he didn’t know the documents were there is a little hard to believe, especially, then they found more. You know we have some experience in this, and the lawyers are making a big mistake. They’re making these statements – we’ve got everything, and then the next day, we don’t have everything, and then the next day, they find more documents –  and we didn’t get one this morning but we did get one Saturday.

It’s really hard to take anything the Biden Team says seriously. How long before the next batch of files materializes? What was Joe Biden doing taking all these classified papers anyway? Why weren’t they handed over to the Archives, as they should have been? Is there something he’s trying to hide?

As my dad pointed out, they don’t appoint a Special Counsel unless there’s at least a real concern of a serious issue:

Here’s the problem with all of this, obviously there were documents there that weren’t supposed to be there. They’ve got a Special Counsel. They’ve got a Special Counsel on the former President of the United States, and now they’ve got a Special Counsel on the President of the United States. Both of these individuals are going to be running for President again in 2024.

We’ve got documents that are related to Ukraine. Documents related to the United Kingdom. Documents that are related to Iran. So this is serious information. And then they stopped saying what these other documents were involving which leads me to believe that there’s something else going on there and they don’t want it out. And the lawyers are saying well we’re trying to balance transparency with an ongoing Special Counsel. And as we said on last week’s broadcast, when a Special Counsel is implemented that means there’s concern of criminal liability. They don’t do Special Counsels for civil cases. And the lawyer that was looking at this, the U.S. Attorney in Illinois said to the Attorney General in his view you have to put a Special Counsel in place.

I can’t help but wonder what that U.S. Attorney saw to come to that conclusion.

This Administration must be held accountable for its lawless and hypocritical behavior. We support Rep. Jordan’s investigation, and have also launched our own effort to discover and expose the truth behind these classified documents. We just filed an expedited FOIA request demanding all records connected to the Biden documents, who knew about them and for how long, and what, if anything is actually being done about it.

Today’s full Sekulow broadcast includes more analysis of Rep. Jordan’s new investigation of President Biden, the White House’s response to this document disaster, and how this could affect the 2024 election, among other important issues.
