Is Trump's Mugshot His New Rallying Cry?

The Deep State’s two-tiered system of justice to remove President Donald Trump from the 2024 presidential election has reached a new low: Trump is now the first President with a mugshot. But could this mugshot be a rallying cry for Trump’s supporters?

The former President surrendered to the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, Georgia, yesterday following indictment charges of racketeering related to the aftermath of the 2020 election.

Trump didn’t hold back his feelings on his first-ever mugshot. Trump said the Georgia officials “insisted” he take the picture, and it was “not a comfortable feeling — especially when you’ve done nothing wrong.”

I find this unnecessary, demeaning, ridiculous, and unlawful. And I’m not talking about the mugshot. I’m talking about the entire proceeding to indict the former President and 18 other co-defendants, mostly lawyers doing their jobs. The practice of law has now been criminalized.

It was a great move by Kenneth Chesebro, one of the co-defendants, to request a speedy trial to put pressure on the DA. All he did was write a legal memo about Trump. And for that, he’s been indicted?

Lawyers are supposed to be advocates, zealous, and aggressive. I’ve even been accused of being rude and obnoxious in a courtroom. Is that a crime now? Not everybody’s Matlock.

I’m very optimistic about reports of how the lawyers of all the 19 co-defendants are coming together. You might have almost 40 lawyers working together. This will be a full-throttled defense to defend the President and the lawyers being unjustly prosecuted.

ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell joined us to share his disgust with the criminalization of the practice of law:

[Having a lawyer] is a fundamental constitutional right. How dare they try to take away the lawyers for people. These are third-world tactics. Every single lawyer in America should be screaming about this because they could be next. Their client could be next. You have a right to representation. You have an assumption that you are innocent, and then your lawyer gets to go through the legal process of representing you. When you criminalize lawyers for people, this is totally un-American.

Grenell is exactly right. The right to a fair trial with the presumption of innocence until proven guilty is a core American right. And going after lawyers is a tactic that tyrants employ, which Alan Dershowitz pointed out on our broadcast recently.

When you see all this nonsense that’s going on right now, what do you intend to do about it? Do you want to save this constitutional republic? Do you want this nonsense for your kids and your grandkids? I sure don’t. I don’t like having to explain to my grandkids why the former President has a mugshot. I defended him for several years, and my grandkids met him in the Oval Office.

Yesterday was a sad day for the country, with Trump’s mugshot displayed everywhere. This is not the country the Founding Fathers had in mind. We’re losing our liberties and this republic every day. We have a big job ahead of us – to defend the republic.
