This is URGENT. We are less than three weeks out from the midterm elections, and President Joe Biden is depleting America’s resources for his own political gain.

As reported, the President just announced he would be releasing more U.S. oil reserves in an attempt to claim another false victory before the November elections:

President Joe Biden announced a plan on Wednesday to sell off the rest of his release from the nation's emergency oil reserve by year's end and begin refilling the stockpile as he tries to dampen high gasoline prices ahead of midterm elections on Nov. 8.

He said 15 million barrels of oil will be offered from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) - part of a record 180 million-barrel release that began in May, and added the United States is ready to tap reserves again early next year to rein in prices.

President Biden is adamant that this move is in no way political. Don’t be fooled, releasing these barrels was pure politics. This is just a desperate attempt to push down gas prices at the pump so that when you’re on your way to the polls, they can say look, we lowered gas prices. The problem is what happens AFTER the midterms. This little ploy is going to come to an end, and quickly. And the problem is, it’s likely going to leave us even worse off, making it more difficult for Americans to heat their homes just as temperatures are dropping rapidly around the country. And we do not even have the energy production taking place, due to this Administration’s disastrous policies and regulations, to replace it quickly.

This is an Administration, and a President, that campaigned on a promise to end the production of fossil fuels in the United States. And as he rapidly depletes our oil reserves, I guess you could say President Biden does follow through on his promises, to the detriment of America. But now he wants to have it both ways. He’s releasing more oil and promising it will somehow be replenished. I certainly don’t know how, and he’s definitely not saying.

But I can’t see how he thinks telling U.S. oil companies to increase production after he’s waged a two-year effort to inhibit their ability to do so at every turn. Respectfully, Mr. President, it doesn’t work that way. Which is precisely why his plan isn’t working either.

ACLJ Senior Counsel for Global Affairs Mike Pompeo – who served as Secretary of State under President Trump – echoed the same sentiment and cut right through the Biden Administration’s latest political smokescreen:

This was designed to send a message to the American people that they have a plan when in fact we can see they clearly don’t. I’m staring at crude oil prices even as we speak . . . it is not only political, it’s not working. And we know what would work. Delivering American energy, AFFORDABLE American energy to the American people is what would work.

Sec. Pompeo also issued a dire warning that dipping into our reserves like this with no plan in place to replenish them will yield dire consequences for many Americans this winter:

It’s designed for the really bad moments for America, not for the bad political moments, but for the moments that threaten the American people. And sadly now this has become a tool of politics in the waning days of an election. I don’t think it’s going to work politically. I know it’s not going to work as a matter of reducing the cost for every family to heat their home and drive their cars this winter. It’s unfortunate that President Biden’s gone this way. It’s not good for the country.

Is this really building back at all, let alone better?
