Eugene, OR - Lane Community College fired and canceled Barry Sommers class. A group is now prepared to take legal action. Sommer was set to teach a class called What Is Islam, until LCC pulled the plug.

The council on American Islamic Relations raised objections saying that Sommer is not qualified to teach the course, and has connections to a group called Act for America, an anti Muslim hate group.

The American Center for Law and Justice, which represent Sommer, says the school violated his 1st amendment free speech rights. The ACLJ says its demanding the school to rehire Sommer.
