The U.S. Surgeon General has given America a warning regarding the Coronavirus:  prepare for “our Pearl Harbor moment.”

On today’s Jay Sekulow Live we discussed the U.S. Surgeon General’s dire warning.

Here’s what the Surgeon General said on NBC’s Meet the Press:

I've talked to many of these governors, and here's what I say to them -- here’s what I would say to them right now. The next week is going to be our Pearl Harbor moment. It's going to be our 9/11 moment. It's going to be the hardest moment for many Americans in their entire lives. And we really need to understand that if we want to flatten that curve and get through to the other side, everyone needs to do their part.

President Trump said at yesterday’s White House Taskforce Briefing:

We have tremendous talent working. We have tremendous people, and that includes governors, that includes everybody. Everybody's working. But unfortunately, we're getting to that time when the numbers are going to peak [and] it's not going to be a good-looking situation.

The President and the Surgeon General had similar messages. This will be our nation’s “Pearl Harbor moment” or like 9/11 for those who are younger. However, instead of it only happening at one location, it is nationwide.

There’s kind of conflicting news today because there are good reports, at least potentially good news, that in some of the highest peaking areas we may be reaching that peak level. The curve could start to trend downward. But keep in mind, we also know that even when the curve trends down, it’s likely to go down slowly. There will still be new cases and of course, additional fatalities. It doesn’t just peak and then stop. It peaks and then it goes back down the hill.

They’re predicting that we may experience a day where there’s as many people or more that die in one day than died in the September 11th attacks. .It’s likely going to happen this week, most likely around mid-week.

In other areas of the country, possibly later in the week. Some are even preparing for the peak to occur into May. It’s not an exact science and there are questions about the timing. But I think the bottom line is, what our leaders are trying to prepare us for, both the President of the United States and the Surgeon General, we can expect a pretty big spike in the number of deaths. We don’t want to panic. We can only vigilantly follow the CDC recommendations, by practicing social distancing, and wearing masks and gloves if you do go out.

We are living through a truly difficult time, and as all this is going on, we at the ACLJ encourage you to join us in prayer for our nation, those affected by COVID-19, and the people on the front lines fighting to save lives every day.
