Stand-up for Life in the Senate

As the battle begins in the U.S. Senate to pass a health care reform bill, there's growing concern about the pro-abortion mandates included in the bill put forth by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

Our analysis of the bill clearly shows that abortion coverage would be mandatory and the measure also weakens conscience-clause protections for pro-life medical professionals and fails to prevent abortion referrals in school based health centers.

That's why it is so important to back the pro-life efforts underway in the Senate now.  Sen. Orrin Hatch and others are working on a health care Amendment that would remove abortion funding from health care.  The Amendment would do what the Stupak-Pitts Amendment did for the health care legislation passed by the House.
