In tracking a number of key pieces of legislation in Congress, Jay focuses on several important bills designed to protect human life.  Stay tuned for upcoming broadcasts of Jay's weekly television program, ACLJ This Week, for discussions on these critical topics.

In a television interview, Jay discusses an important bill with Sen. John Ensign (R-NV) who is working secure passage of a bill (S.8) to amend Title 18, United States Code, to prohibit taking minors across State lines in circumvention of laws requiring the involvement of parents in abortion decisions.  The measure was introduced into the Senate on January 24, 2005 and it has 38 co-sponsors.  The measure has been referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

At the same time, another pro-life measure is making its way through Congress. In an interview with Sen. David Vitter (R-LA), Jay discussed a bill (S.2206) that would amend Title X of the Public Health Service Act to prohibit family planning grants from being awarded to any entity that performs abortions.  The measure was introduced on January 27, 2006 and has four co-sponsors.  It has been referred to the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions.
