Beating Hearts and Cut-Open Faces

By ACLJ.org1440017962832

In the latest video from The Center for Medical Progress, the investigative journalists reveal the latest stomach-churning realities about how Planned Parenthood changes abortion procedures to harvest baby brains and other organs.

It’s bone-chilling.

Ultrasound machines intended to reveal heartbeats and profiles to expectant parents are instead used to change abortion procedures to ensure intact babies are delivered so their faces can be cut open and their brains can be harvested and sold.

It’s disgusting.

The Hill has more details:

The newest video from an anti-abortion group targeting Planned Parenthood claims that its doctors have performed “custom abortions” of fetuses that sometimes have beating hearts to obtain fetal tissue for medical research. …

Much of the latest video continues the interview with a former employee of StemExpress, the company that  recently cut ties with Planned Parenthood. She discusses witnessing a late-term abortion in which the baby’s heart was still beating.

Another abortionist is quoted in the video as saying, “The fetus was already in the vaginal canal whenever we put her in the stirrups. It just fell out."

That’s unmistakable evidence of infanticide.  It’s the cold-blooded murder of a baby born alive.

More from The Hill:

“She just taps the heart and it starts beating,” the former employee, Holly O’Donnell, said. “Since the fetus was so intact, she said, ‘Oh, this is a really good fetus, it looks like we can procure a lot from it. We’re going to procure brain.' ”

O’Donnell then describes a procedure to remove the brain.

“That was the moment I knew I couldn’t work for the company anymore,” O’Donnell said.

The intact baby’s brain is harvested by cutting the baby’s head open through its face.

When will this evil stop? When will our taxpayer dollars stop subsidizing this horror?

The video also discusses how Planned Parenthood’s practices may very well be violating the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban, the law the ACLJ has defended in court for years.

In a recent interview, Dr. Theresa Deisher, a specialist in research using adult stem cells, explains the significance of the abortion procedures described in the video:

“If you read scientific publications, in which they use the fetal material for some indications, particularly, cardio-vascular, or nerve cell research, they discuss the necessity of having tissue in the digesting buffer solution within five minutes for optimal yields,” she explains. “So, within five minutes of death, you would have to have the heart removed, and flushed of all blood, cleaned of any extra tissue that might be there, and the heart put into a liquid with enzymes that would digest the connective tissue and release the muscle cells.”

“Sometimes, they use an apparatus where they hook the heart up and they would flush fluid through it to keep it alive and beating,” she continues. “And you can’t have a dead heart that’s going to work in that kind of process.”

Deisher states that, in these cases, in order for the organs of aborted babies to be viable for research, the baby must be kept alive with a beating heart in order to get it through the harvest.
“Biomedical companies prefer gestational ages of greater than 20 weeks for heart muscle,” she adds. “This is from reading their publications; so, I have always suspected that the babies in some of these cases were alive until their hearts were cut out.”

Think about that for a moment.  A baby is kept alive – outside the womb – long enough to harvest the child’s heart.  In the law, this is what is known as “malum in se” – wrong or evil in and of itself.  Anyone, anywhere knows this is blatantly illegal and evil.

For a more complete legal analysis of that law and others Planned Parenthood may be violating, go here.

This is why we continue our fight to defund Planned Parenthood and why our fight continues in federal court this week as we legally represent one of the board members of The Center for Medical Progress, the group of investigative journalists exposing Planned Parenthood’s grotesque barbarity.

The video released today is number seven from The Center for Medical Progress. And with each new video comes new revelations of even more barbaric techniques used by these abortionists to harvest body parts from babies.

Such a tragedy – all in the name of adding profits to their bottom line.
