Attorney General Garland's UNBELIEVABLE Defense
Yesterday, Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee, where he was questioned about his department’s decision to send armed S.W.A.T.-style agents to the home of a sole pro-life protester to arrest him – even after he had offered to turn himself in voluntarily. The AG claimed the “safest” way to bring this peaceful protester in was with a battalion of armed agents. That’s the safest way? I don’t know about you, but I’m terrified to ask what Garland would consider a dangerous way. To make matters worse, the pro-lifer was acquitted of all charges. There was absolutely no justification to treat him this way. He was innocent.
As reported on Fox News, Sen. Josh Hawley (MO) took the AG to task for his blatantly unconstitutional, bluntly un-American tactics targeting pro-life and Christian Americans in the interest of serving his abortion industry masters, even as he allows violence and crime to run rampant through the streets of American cities:
Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., grilled Attorney General Merrick Garland over the FBI raid on a pro-life Christian man and asked whether the Department of Justice (DOJ) had an “anti-Catholic bias.”
“Our department protects all religions, all ideologies. It does not have any bias against any religion of any kind,” Garland said, fielding the question from Hawley during Wednesday's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing.
Hawley then characterized the DOJ as an agency quick to expend resources and intelligence to be deployed against Catholics while “turning a blind eye” as people are executed in the streets of American cities.
When AG Garland tried to separate himself from the actions of his own agents, Sen. Hawley called him out, challenging his claim that he has no anti-Christian or anti-life bias:
“You are the Attorney General of the United States,” said Senator Hawley. “You are in charge of the Justice Department, and yes sir, you are responsible.”
“You used an unbelievable show of force with guns, that I just note, liberals usually decry,” he continued. ”We’re supposed to hate long guns and assault-style weapons. You’re happy to deploy them against Catholics and innocent children.”
Meanwhile, when asked why his office hasn’t been pursuing the domestic terrorists who are targeting pro-life crisis pregnancy centers, which has only increased in the wake of the overturning of Roe, Garland rattled off a list of excuses, including that the attacks happened at night, or no cameras were positioned to get a good look at the perpetrators. Respectfully, Mr. Attorney General, twenty years ago, we found Saddam Hussein hiding in a hole in the Iraqi desert. The DMV can take our pictures in our cars. You expect us to believe that in 2023, the United States government can’t find the pro-abortion vandals threatening to blow up pro-life pregnancy centers and warning pro-life workers and doctors that if abortion isn’t safe, they’re not safe either? Those are actual domestic terrorists, Mr. AG, NOT concerned American parents, as you’d like us to believe.
The truth is if Garland really wanted to – if he took his job seriously and wasn’t just trying to curry favor with his radical overlords – he could find these criminal perpetrators tout de suite. Which means he’s choosing not to. After all, abortion giants like Planned Parenthood donated millions to the Biden campaign as well as many other lawmakers on the Left. So if any of Planned Parenthood’s pro-life competition actually does get blown up, or a few pro-life workers get scared away from going to work, or worse, so be it? Is that just the cost of doing the Left’s political business?
ACLJ Senior Counsel for Global Affairs and former Director of the CIA Mike Pompeo joined us and echoed the same idea that Garland is choosing to kowtow to the abortion lobby:
These are political decisions being made by senior leaders on how to prosecute and whom to prosecute. It is not the absence of cameras. It’s not the time of day that these things are taking place. This is a decision being built and filtered through the bureaucracy in the Department of Justice and perhaps at the FBI as well about which cases are more important to them, and these are not pro-life people. These are folks who have supported the abortion movement for an awfully long time in their political lives and in the rest of their lives, and this is now emanating in our most sacred space, this important space where we’re supposed to do equal justice under the law. I thought his [Garland’s] performance yesterday both reflected the politicization of the Attorney General’s office, and was not representative of the best things that America knows need to happen. It’s indecent what he said yesterday.
So the Biden Administration is choosing not to lift a finger to bring these domestic terrorists to justice – willful inaction that could get innocent pro-life medical workers AND PATIENTS killed – but it will send nearly 30 armed agents to arrest one peaceful pro-life protester to shut him up. This is where the Biden Administration has taken us.
