The next round in the fight to ensure that mandatory abortion coverage is not included in health care reform is now focused on the U.S. Senate.

The bill now being considered was crafted by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and is problematic for a number of reasons - including a number of abortion provisions.  We've produced a thorough analysis of this measure and you can read our memo here

The fact is that once again it is the American people who need to voice their concerns and push for a pro-life Amendment that's being crafted by Sen. Orrin Hatch - an Amendment that will do what the Stupak-Pitts Amendment did in the House version - remove abortion funding from health care.

During the battle over the House health care bill - and the successful effort to get the pro-life Stupak-Pitts Amendment passed, we heard from nearly 170,000 Americans - demanding that abortion does not become a mandatory benefit under a national health care plan.

Now, the time is here to push hard in the Senate - encourage those who are backing this pro-life effort.  This is a critical issue and we want to hear from you.

Take a moment and add your name to our petition of support for a pro-life Amendment in the Senate health care bill.

We'll keep you posted on the latest developments as this issue unfolds on our daily radio broadcast, Jay Sekulow Live!
