Life News - Just 36% Back Obamacare as Supreme Court Review Begins
by Steven Ertelt, LifeNews.com
Just 36 percent of Americans back Obamacare, which is opposed by pro-life groups because it funds abortions and prompts rationing concerns, as the Supreme Court begins reviewing the controversial law this week. . . .
Jay Sekulow, an attorney with the ACLJ, talked about why pro-life advocates have every reason to oppose Obamacare. . . .
“Not only do Obama’s pro-abortion regulations force coverage of the abortion pill, Obama’s newest regulation forces you to directly pay for abortions. If you have health insurance – and under ObamaCare, you must – you could be required to pay at least $1 a month for abortions,” Sekulow explained. “In effect, the government is forcing you to take out your wallet and hand Planned Parenthood $12 to commit abortions.”
“The ACLJ has filed the first lawsuit challenging the HHS mandate on behalf of an individual citizen, an American citizen of faith, who knows that under our Constitution, the government cannot force him to violate his religious beliefs when paying for health insurance,” he said. “Every person of faith should have the right to opt out of paying for abortion. ObamaCare and the new abortion-pill mandate from President Obama’s HHS are unconstitutional.”. . .
