MIC DROP: Tulsi Gabbard Destroys the Left’s Attacks
Listen tothis article
Tulsi Gabbard’s opening statement at her Senate confirmation hearing just destroyed the far Left’s attacks on her character. She condemned the “lies and smears” being spread about her and asserted that she will not be anyone’s “puppet” as the Director of National Intelligence (DNI).
I want to warn the American people watching at home: You will hear lies and smears that challenge my loyalty to and love for our country. Those who oppose my nomination imply that I am loyal to something or someone other than God, my own conscience, and the Constitution of the United States, accusing me of being Trump’s puppet, Putin’s puppet, Assad’s puppet, a guru’s puppet, Modi’s puppet, not recognizing the absurdity of simultaneously being the puppet of 5 different puppet masters.
They used the same tactic against President Trump and failed. The American people elected President Trump with a decisive victory and mandate for change.
The fact is what truly unsettles my political opponents is I refuse to be their puppet. . . .
If confirmed as Director of National Intelligence, I will continue to live by the oath of office I have sworn at least eight times in my life: to support and defend our God-given freedoms enshrined in the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic, and I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same.
We all know that Tulsi’s nomination has faced much opposition. It’s also not just the Deep State undermining Trump’s pick (e.g., 100 former intel officials signed a letter demanding that the Senate reject Tulsi’s nomination). Some GOP Senators are also voicing concerns.
However, it’s interesting to note who introduced Tulsi to the Senate Intelligence Committee. You might have expected it to be a MAGA Republican, but it was actually former Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee Richard Burr (NC). No one likely considered him a MAGA Republican during his time in office – he was usually a moderate. Yet he strongly implored the panel to confirm Tulsi, reminding the panel that the Department of Defense had reviewed her security clearance five times and extended it every time.
Also, current Senator Joni Ernst (IA) introduced Tulsi. Notably, she initially voiced several concerns about Pete Hegseth’s nomination as Secretary of Defense. But the moderate Senator eventually voted to confirm him. Ernst served in the military and is a major proponent of national security, so her support of Tulsi speaks volumes. She informed the panel how “duty, honor, service” were the “principles” that “guided” Tulsi’s military service.
As I said earlier, the Deep State is in full force to derail Tulsi’s confirmation. One of the wildest lies that’s been leaked is that Tulsi once met with Hezbollah. Senator Susan Collins (ME) questioned Tulsi about this claim, and Tulsi responded: “No. And it is an absurd accusation.” You can’t get a much clearer response than that.
I’d like to circle back to Tulsi’s assertion that she’s no one’s “puppet.” For several days, the pressure against Tulsi’s confirmation has been mounting. We’ve seen outrageous attacks on her faith, alleged terrorist connections, etc.
As a result, the full display of the far-Left media is on display, and let’s be honest, as well as some of the “old guard” Republican Senators on the intelligence panel. It wasn’t that long ago that Senator John Kerry (MA) was confirmed as Secretary of State – though pictures circulated of him having dinner with Syria’s Bashar al-Assad. Kerry got a pass from many of the same Republican Senators (e.g., Sen. Collins) who are decrying Tulsi’s nomination.
Such hypocrisy is why we need Tulsi as DNI. We need a strong leader to push back on the failures of our intel community. We’re already taking legal action to defend Tulsi against the Deep State after the TSA maliciously put her on a terror watchlist. And now we’re mobilizing our Government Affairs Office on Capitol Hill, urging the Senate to confirm Tulsi Gabbard. Take action with us – sign our petition.
Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of Tulsi Gabbard’s ongoing Senate confirmation hearing for Director of National Intelligence. We also offer prayers for all those affected by last night’s tragic airplane and helicopter crash.
