Tulsi Gabbard: A Bold Choice for Director of National Intelligence

Early Years
Tulsi Gabbard, the Sekulow broadcast’s Senior Military and Political Analyst and former Congresswoman and presidential candidate, is President Donald Trump’s nominee for Director of National Intelligence. Gabbard was born in Leloaloa, American Samoa, on April 12, 1981. In 2002, at just 21 years old, she became the youngest person ever to serve in the Hawaii State Legislature. Her political roots run deep; her father, Mike Gabbard, was a Hawaii State Senator for a decade.
Military Service
In 2003, while still working in politics, Tulsi Gabbard enlisted in the Hawaii Army National Guard and finished basic training in between legislative sessions. Shortly after, she voluntarily deployed to Iraq and worked with a field medical unit. In 2007, Gabbard earned the title of distinguished honor graduate, the first woman to do so, after completing the Accelerated Officer Candidate School program at the Alabama Military Academy. She then deployed to Kuwait, where she trained counterterrorism units.
Tulsi Gabbard: American Patriot and Bold Boundary-Pusher
Throughout her political career, one truth about Tulsi Gabbard has remained evident: her steadfast and strong love for our country. As a combat veteran who has served multiple deployments in the Middle East, Gabbard is the picture of strength, perseverance, and patriotism. Her extensive service to our country and commitment to bipartisanship make her an excellent choice to tackle the threats we face right now in America.
A Change of Heart
In 2012, Gabbard was elected to Congress as a Democrat and then entered into the 2020 Democratic presidential primary. Believed by many to be the heir apparent to California Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Tulsi Gabbard rattled the Left in 2022 when she left the Democrat Party to eventually become a Republican. In a video posted to social media, Gabbard said:
I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party. It’s now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue and stoking anti-white racism, who actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms enshrined in our Constitution.
In 2024, while standing next to President Trump at one of his campaign rallies in North Carolina, Gabbard officially joined the GOP.
Targeted by the Biden Administration
In August 2024, whistleblowers revealed that former Hawaii Congresswoman and presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard was placed on the TSA’s Quiet Skies program, a covert surveillance initiative targeting potential terrorist threats. The surveillance began on July 23, 2024, with Gabbard being followed on every flight by an extensive security detail, including Explosive Detection Canine Teams, TSA specialists, and Federal Air Marshals.
Gabbard believes the surveillance was retaliation for a tweet criticizing Vice President Kamala Harris’ leadership, where she stated that Harris was not strong enough to stand up to adversaries and would be a puppet like President Biden.
Outspoken as ever, Gabbard condemned the move, calling it “the ultimate betrayal.” She said that the TSA put her on the watchlist because the Biden-Harris Administration “sees me as a threat to their power.”
The ACLJ Supports Tulsi Gabbard
We are happy to share that a member of our very own team, Tulsi Gabbard, has been nominated to serve as the Director of National Intelligence. Her political transformation was driven by her integrity, her dedication to the country’s founding principles, and her desire to align with the values of the American people. Her bold leadership will be instrumental in addressing the numerous threats to our country. I have no doubt that she will catalyze a new era at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
Slow Rolled in the Senate
Gabbard’s nomination has been met by a Left that is out for retribution – not because of her qualifications, but because they are still fuming at her for switching to the Republican Party. Initially, the FBI delayed her background check. Leftist Senators claimed she hadn’t provided the required vetting materials. This is false, but not the first time Tulsi has been targeted. Tulsi has finally received an initial hearing date of January 30.
The ACLJ has responded to the slow roll by launching a multipronged legal effort to defend Tulsi Gabbard and get her across the finish line for confirmation. Take a stand with us and sign our petition: Confirm Tulsi Gabbard – Defeat the Deep State.
