In response to the tragic rocket attack that murdered 12 Israeli children and teenagers, Israel assassinated Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr “Sayyid Muhsan” in Beirut. Just hours later, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was eliminated in Tehran – for which Iran has vowed revenge. How will the Biden-Harris Administration respond to the latest turmoil in the Middle East?

The assassination of Haniyeh, the leader and public face of Hamas, might be the biggest hit on a terrorist leader since President Trump took out the brutal ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Israel has not yet claimed responsibility for the terrorist’s death. But how embarrassing is it for Iran that such a high-profile leader was taken out inside their capital city? Just hours before his death, Haniyeh was filmed chanting, “Death to Israel!” and “Death to America!” at the inauguration of the new Iranian President, Masoud Pezehkian.

Vice President Kamala Harris addressed the assassination of Hezbollah’s commander Shukr:

Israel has a right to defend itself and I support Israel’s right to remain secure and the security of Israel, what we know in particular is, yes, it has a right to defend itself against the terrorist organization, which is exactly what Hezbollah is. But all of that being said, we still must work on a diplomatic solution, and we will continue to do that.

Unsurprisingly, Kamala mentioned that the Administration is seeking a “diplomatic solution,” which is her typical talking point, referencing a two-state solution. But here’s a good question: Why are we hearing from VP Harris and not President Biden?

And let’s not forget that Sukr was the terrorist partly responsible for the murderous 1983 Marine barracks attack in Beirut that killed 241 U.S. soldiers as well as French soldiers and Lebanese civilians. In fact, in 2019 the U.S. government placed a $5 million bounty on Shukr’s head. Maybe Harris should actually be thanking Israel for taking out a top enemy that helped murder hundreds of Marines in a cowardly attack. This win for Israel is also a win for America.

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo reacted to the Hezbollah leader’s death and Harris’ weak response:

Good riddance to this man who killed dozens of Americans that we’re aware of. Who knows how many other terror plots he’s had his hand in that are publicly known? . . . When you hear Vice President Harris speak about the fact that . . . she feels for these innocent civilians, well, of course, she does, and then she’ll say, Israel has a right to defend itself. Well, of course, they do. But what she is leaving out is these are not morally equivalent – that the loss of civilian life that has taken place is the direct responsibility of this very same regime in Iran and the Hamas folks who conducted their attack on [October 7] and the Hezbollah folks this past week. And when she does that . . . she emboldens the bad guys.

We will be watching how the terrorists’ deaths will affect Israel’s fight against Hamas in Gaza. I hope the U.S. continues to provide Israel with the resources it needs.

Today is also a big day for the ACLJ’s ongoing defense of Israel. As we told you, the International Criminal Court (ICC) is seeking arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders, and we requested the opportunity to defend Israel before the ICC.

The court granted our request because of our long history of defending Israeli and American interests before the international tribunal. Today we are filing what could be the most important piece of legal action we’ve ever done on Israel’s behalf.

Today is the MIDNIGHT deadline of our Life & Liberty Drive. Your support enables us to defend Israel. We can’t take action without you. Donate today – gifts are doubled.
