No one can deny what was caught on camera with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz at the Minnesota State Fair. After a reporter asked about the deaths of the six Israeli hostages in Gaza (including a U.S. citizen), Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate tucked his tail and ran. He later addressed the issue on X (formerly Twitter).

On Saturday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had entered tunnels under Rafah where Hamas was hiding out. Unfortunately, Hamas brutally murdered the six hostages who were in the tunnel, including one Israeli American, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, just before the IDF could rescue them.

These murdered Israelis were part of the original 200 hostages who had been taken captive on October 7. Reports are that more than 60 of the original hostages are still alive. That’s why Israel must continue its mission to eradicate Hamas and rescue the remaining hostages.

It shouldn’t have been that difficult for Walz to respond to the question about the murdered Israelis. Any politician should be able to answer such a question in 30 seconds or less, but he chose to run away instead.

Some are saying that Walz didn’t hear the question, but when I watched the video, I believe he heard it. Walz looked in the direction of the voice off-camera and acknowledged it. But instead of giving a one- or two-sentence generic condemnation of Hamas, Walz froze, waited for the staffer to come to rescue him, and walked away. He likely only responded to the incident on X later because of the video that sparked the controversy.

In the meantime, President Joe Biden is still trying to put pressure on Israel to sign a ceasefire with Hamas. He just publicly criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for not pursuing negotiations with Hamas – negotiations for a ceasefire for which Biden claims to be “close” to finalizing the plans.

As the media continues to demonize Israel during its fight for survival, how many times will the truth be ignored that Hamas is the party refusing to sign a ceasefire? The Biden-Harris Administration (see VP Harris’ post on X) is still demanding that Israel stop its military mission to get the hostages home. But tragic events like what happened in the tunnels of Rafah prove that strategy is futile.

The Biden-Harris Administration should be doing everything it can to get the remaining four American-Israeli hostages home. However, they continue to blame Israel and keep opining about a ceasefire and the suffering in Gaza.

ACLJ Senior Counsel for International and Government Affairs Jeff Ballabon responded to the far Left’s refusal to support Israel fully.

Between Walz running away from the camera and ignoring it and this kind of gaslighting by [far-Left] people like [U.S. Rep. Adam] Schiff and [Secretary of State Antony] Blinken and Harris & Biden, I’m not sure. Maybe I prefer Walz. He just walks away like he doesn’t care. . . . It’s a word that’s overused, but it’s pure gaslighting. They don’t care at all. Everything they’ve done has been against Israel and against these hostages from day one, bottom line.

Though the Biden-Harris Administration keeps turning its back on Israel, the ACLJ will never stop fighting to defend Israel. In a major move, the International Criminal Court (ICC) granted our legal request to file a vital amicus brief before the court. And we just sent a critical demand letter to the U.N. Security Council in defense of Israel’s interests. Our filing at the ICC could be the most important legal action we’ve ever taken to defend Israel.

Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of Tim Walz’s shameful response to the question regarding Hamas’ brutal execution of six Israeli hostages. Also, Tristan Leavitt, President of Empower Oversight, reacted to the House of Representatives’ completed impeachment inquiry confirming that President Biden “committed impeachable offenses.
