Sen. Blackburn on Sekulow: Biden’s $100 Million Will Go Straight to Hamas
During his visit to Israel, President Joe Biden pledged $100 million in humanitarian aid money to be sent to Palestinians in Gaza. Biden also reaffirmed, though less specifically, U.S. support for Israel to be able to defend itself.
Senator Marsha Blackburn (TN) joined me live on the broadcast this morning to discuss the situation in Israel and Gaza, and stated her belief that not one of those 100,000,000 tax dollars will be used to aid displaced Palestinians in Gaza. It is far more likely that money will go to fund Hamas, the vile terrorist army that just viciously murdered 1,400 innocent people in Israel, and injured or abducted even more.
As Sen. Blackburn explained:
We know that the money is ending up in the hands of Hamas. When you look at even this last week, what did they find Hamas doing? They were intercepting the aid coming into Gaza, and they were using that food, fuel, medical supplies, first aid kits, they were using it for the terrorists, for their Hamas troops. So if you send more money, they are going to take that money. So why would you do that?
In the wake of the horrific attacks by Hamas, backed by Iran, we’ve now learned of a terrorist drone attack on a military base being used by U.S. troops in Iraq. The enemies of Israel and the United States have been emboldened by Hamas, and the weakness on display from the Biden Administration.
I asked Sen. Blackburn how this Administration can possibly be comfortable sending money to Gaza, currently under the control of Hamas, to which she highlighted Biden’s National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan’s track record for being completely clueless when it comes to our enemies in the Middle East:
It shows you how they misread the tea leaves, if you will. Jake Sullivan has been wrong on just about every foreign policy issue that he has encountered . . . Jake Sullivan was a part of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. He was part of the botched Afghanistan withdrawal. He has been very involved in this ransom payment to Iran, $6 billion dollars. We all know you cannot appease these countries. Iran is a part of the Axis of Evil, with Russia, China, North Korea. They are intent on destroying Israel, and destroying the United States, and why in Heaven’s name this Administration would continue to cajole, and appease, and send money to these bad actors who end up funding terrorism, and funding their proxies like Hamas, like Hezbollah, to do their dirty deeds, it is beyond me.
And remember, it was the same Jake Sullivan who, just days before this month’s horrific attacks in Israel stated, “The Middle East region is quieter today than it has been in two decades.” Sullivan is embarrassing not only his boss, Joe Biden, but our entire country. No wonder our so-called allies in the Middle East are canceling meetings with the President while he’s in the region. They view the President of the United States as weak, or at least insignificant. When has that ever been the case in the history of our nation?
And now President Biden is set to address the country, and the world, from the Oval Office tonight. As Sen. Blackburn put it, this is his moment to try to sell the American people his plans to give away more of our tax money:
I think he’s going to try to sell his $100 billion dollar aid package, which is $10 billion to Israel, more money for Ukraine, for Taiwan, and then money for big blue cities that are sanctuary cities that are now complaining about the open border and having illegal aliens coming to them.
We will see tonight if Senator Blackburn’s predictions are correct. I suspect they will be. But at the end of the day, the one silver lining is that it seems most Republicans and Democrats in Washington, D.C. agree that we need to stand with our ally Israel right now. We’re even finally seeing a backlash against the incendiary members of the so-called “squad” who have vocally condemned Israel in the past and even now are still accusing Israel of bombing a hospital in Gaza, even when the entire world saw two members of Hamas admitting responsibility for the mistaken attack. Sen. Blackburn echoed that sentiment, adding that if not for all this drama in the House right now, the squad could be censured for their dangerous rhetoric, and hopefully we will see that happen soon.
Today’s full Sekulow broadcast includes more discussion of Biden’s trip to Israel, his promise of a humanitarian aid package, and more speculation as to how that money will actually be divided and used and the likelihood it will wind up in the hands of terrorists. We also discuss the current efforts in D.C. to elect a new Speaker of the House.
