The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, continues to emphasize that Jerusalem will remain the undivided capital of Israel.

Celebrating Jerusalem Day this week, Netanyahu recalled that before the Six Day War Jerusalem was what he called "suffocating, a city that did not develop, that was frozen."

"That changed after Jerusalem was united under Israeli sovereignty," the prime minister added. "Jerusalem is breathing and blossoming. Jerusalem is developing as one town."

This comes as officials with the Islamic Jihad organization condemned the remarks by Netanyahu, asserting that Egypt will not abandon a single inch of "Muslim lands."  And, one Muslim cleric called Jerusalem "the capital of Palestine."

All of this serves as a troubling backdrop for the formation of the so-called "unity government" which includes Fatah and Hamas, the terrorist organization that vows to destroy Israel.

The Israeli Prime Minister correctly understands that there can be no peace negotiations with Hamas at the helm.

This week, Iranian officials fueled the anti-Israel hate when a senior Iranian cleric, who is known as President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's spiritual mentor, urged followers to continue suicide attacks against Israelis, including children.

This from the Iranian cleric:  "When protecting Islam, the Muslim people depend on martyrdom operations. It not only is allowed, but even is an obligation."
