Biden DEMANDS Mayor Downplay Border Crisis

President Joe Biden DEMANDED that the mayor of El Paso, TX downplay the border crisis which is directly affecting his own city, and even tried to PAY HIM OFF with federal funds, all seemingly to cover up the devastating severity of the situation.

You read that right. An El Paso councilmember has just claimed that the Mayor told her "the White House asked him not to [declare a state of emergency]" even as the city is being overwhelmed by migrants, rapidly draining its resources. In fact, while you haven’t heard about it – or at least not as loudly – from the mainstream media, El Paso’s Mayor, Oscar Leeser, has been bussing the migrants on to New York City because his city cannot shoulder the burden. And yet, there’s been no public outcry, not even from New York’s Mayor Eric Adams, who we told you openly criticized Texas Governor Abbott for doing the same thing.

My dad, ACLJ Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow, summed up what’s really going on in El Paso, and likely in border cities all over the American Southwest:

So the White House has asked specifically for El Paso to NOT declare a State of Emergency, and will give them money to offset this, but they don’t want that declaration of an emergency. The democratic mayor of El Paso knows that they’ve got an emergency situation there. And to transfer people out of El Paso to New York is based on their decision, the decision of the people that came into the United States illegally, that’s where they wanted to go – maybe family ties, whatever it might be. But here’s the irony of all of this, and I think the danger of all of this, this is now not a Republican vs. Democrat issue. This is cities being overrun and not being able to handle the volume of people involved in this. That is the real problem here. So when you have that happening, you’ve got to say to yourself, what can the city do? And that’s what they decided to do, but the President said hey, don’t declare a State of Emergency. And why do you think he decided not to declare a State of Emergency? Could it be because, boy, that’s not going to look very good?

It won’t look good for them, not after spending two years IGNORING the festering crisis until it’s reached this point of complete chaos. The Biden Administration has allowed its inaction to devour the southern border, and now it is digging in its heels as if it’s not even happening, that we don’t have a humanitarian crisis smoldering across the southwest.

Imagine how many other cities are currently dealing with the out-of-control border crisis, and you have to wonder if the Biden Administration offered them the same deal in exchange for them publicly biting their tongues about this untenable migrant surge. Imagine a sitting U.S. President offered to bribe local leaders with FEMA funds –
supplied by the unsuspecting taxpayers – rather than actually tackle the root problem, our hemorrhaging southern border.
