The American Center for Law & Justice (ACLJ) has filed for an injunction to keep the developers of the "Ground Zero" mosque from performing any demolition or construction on the site.

The ACLJ is representing New York City firefighter and first responder, Tim Brown, who survived the collapse of the Twin Towers but lost nearly 100 of his friends on 9/11. He is one of a number of individuals who is upset that New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has gone out of his way to help the developers by taking measures like pressuring the Landmarks Preservation Commission to not grant landmark status to the historic building that must be demolished before the project can move forward.

Brett Joshpe, the New York-based attorney handling the lawsuit, says the ACLJ is seeking an injunction from the court to halt the destruction of any of the buildings at issue.
