President Trump: “Democrats Can’t Hide From This One”

Elon Musk recently announced on X (formerly Twitter): “USAID is a criminal organization. Time for it to die.” And now President Donald Trump and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) just exposed the Biden Administration’s corrupt funneling of USAID money to media outlets (e.g., Politico, the New York Times, the AP, Reuters). The bombshell is rocking D.C.

This morning, Trump posted on Truth Social:

LOOKS LIKE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS HAVE BEEN STOLLEN AT USAID, AND OTHER AGENCIES, MUCH OF IT GOING TO THE FAKE NEWS MEDIA AS A “PAYOFF” FOR CREATING GOOD STORIES ABOUT THE DEMOCRATS. THE LEFT WING “RAG,” KNOWN AS “POLITICO,” SEEMS TO HAVE RECEIVED $8,000,000. Did the New York Times receive money??? Who else did??? THIS COULD BE THE BIGGEST SCANDAL OF THEM ALL, PERHAPS THE BIGGEST IN HISTORY! THE DEMOCRATS CAN’T HIDE FROM THIS ONE. TOO BIG, TOO DIRTY!

So the government’s use of USAID doesn’t appear to have been politically neutral. Samantha Power, who served as the U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. during the Obama Administration, was the USAID administrator and has a lot of questions to answer. It doesn’t take much to imagine how the Biden Administration benefited from funneling money to media outlets.

So what exactly is USAID? President John F. Kennedy created the United States Agency for International Development in 1961 to help curb Soviet influence during the Cold War and provide humanitarian aid to “strategically important countries.” The belief was that other nations doing well economically would help America in the long term. Now that’s what USAID is supposed to be used for.

However, USAID became a tool for nation-building or controlling governments over time. When you send pallets of cash to remote or underdeveloped countries, you are buying off the politicians in charge, which leads to corruption and waste.

And even more unfortunate, hundreds of millions of your taxpayer dollars are funding outrageous far-Left programs all over the world. (This list will make you sick to your stomach.) ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell explained further:

These are highly partisan political programs, fringe programs – millions and millions of dollars to fringe political programs. And somehow, the Democrats are acting like we’re feeding kids in Africa with this stuff. Look, there are a few good programs at USAID that we could easily fund through the State Department or through the U.S. Mission to the U.N., and other entities that are more appropriate. But . . . Democrats [could] be in the position of defending hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars of taxpayer money being wasted.

And I would go one step further. I don’t think this is just waste. I think that what Samantha Power did at USAID is about fraud, and we prosecute fraud in this country. There should be an investigation of how this happened and why this happened. And if it’s proven to be of a partisan nature, not for the benefit of the U.S. government, then there should be a prosecution of this.

Fraud is being committed against the American people. Citizens need to wake up and start demanding that the government become better stewards of taxpayer dollars.

Also, we must question how sending so much money to other countries impacts U.S. national security. Not all countries receiving funds are allies of America, and we can’t use taxpayer dollars to strengthen our enemies.

All of these concerns illustrate why DOGE is so vital right now to gut the far-Left bureaucratic state.
