Government Spy Program on Americans Revealed

Over the weekend, it was reported that the Biden Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has quietly been conducting a new program called the “Overt Human Intelligence Collection Program,” which allows it to request interviews with practically any Americans they want, even circumventing legal counsel to do so.

As reported by Politico:

For years, the Department of Homeland Security has run a virtually unknown program gathering domestic intelligence, one of many revelations in a wide-ranging tranche of internal documents reviewed by POLITICO.

Those documents also reveal that a significant number of employees in DHS’s intelligence office have raised concerns that the work they are doing could be illegal.

Under the domestic-intelligence program, officials are allowed to seek interviews with just about anyone in the United States. That includes people held in immigrant detention centers, local jails, and federal prison. DHS’s intelligence professionals have to say they’re conducting intelligence interviews, and they have to tell the people they seek to interview that their participation is voluntary. But the fact that they’re allowed to go directly to incarcerated people — circumventing their lawyers — raises important civil liberties concerns, according to legal experts.

Don’t be fooled by their focus on criminals. That means they can interview ANYONE. They could show up at your door if they want to and try to convince you to submit to what could essentially be an interrogation by the Department of Homeland Security. The Biden Administration is weaponizing DHS to spy on and intimidate American citizens. That’s unconscionable.

Why is President Biden so intent on spying on Americans? This is not the first instance of this Administration violating the constitutional rights of Americans. Less than a month ago, we told you how the Biden FBI had been caught spying on “radical traditionalist Catholics,” whom they essentially labeled terrorists because they conduct their services in Latin. And let’s not forget how we discovered that the Deep State FBI was potentially planning to utilize a spyware software called Pegasus in order to spy on Americans through their phones. With Pegasus, all they’d have to do is type in your phone number, and they’d have full access to your phone. That should be chilling to all Americans. The Biden Deep State wants to strip you of your right to privacy. The question is, why? What are they up to?

Our own ACLJ Senior Counsel Andy Ekonomou broke down the audacity of this latest spying debacle as just another power play by the Biden Deep State:

It’s not enough. The politicization of the U.S. government is not enough. We haven’t sufficiently politicized the Justice Department and the FBI . . . . We have indeed done that. But now we’re going to add this other agency, a part of DHS, Department of Homeland Security, called the Office of Intelligence and Analysis. And we’re going to empower them to do a little bit more spying, and a little bit more inquiring into the lives and the attitudes of the people of the United States, American citizens, domestic citizens, and citizens of the U.S. by having them go up to you and voluntarily asking you, “I’d like to have a little chat to discuss with you about some intelligence gathering that I’d like to do, and some stuff I’d like to pick up.”

And then going into jails and detention centers where there are constitutional rights to counsel people who have been given Miranda warnings, where you don’t have the right to go to somebody who has a lawyer without going through the lawyer first. . . . These [actions] are trampling constitutional rights. That is wrong – it is really wrong to do this.

Andy added a warning to all Americans, should they be approached by an agent of the DHS, the FBI, or any other government agency requesting a casual conversation with them:

When someone says I’m here from the FBI, or I’m here from the Office of Intelligence and Analysis to help you, the answer is CLOSE YOUR MOUTH. Do not discuss this. . . . The government needs to stay out of our business.

Today’s full Sekulow broadcast includes more analysis of this latest revelation about the Deep State’s attempts to spy on Americans. We’re also joined by ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell to discuss even more potential Chinese spy tools that may be hidden in plain sight right here in the United States.
