DOGE Just Exposed $4.7 Trillion

Elon Musk and DOGE continue to expose shocking wasteful federal spending. In one of its most shocking discoveries yet, DOGE found that $4.7 trillion in payments from the Treasury Department were “almost impossible” to track.

Regarding the $4.7 trillion in payments, the DOGE X (formerly Twitter) account posted:

The Treasury Access Symbol (TAS) is an identification code linking a Treasury payment to a budget line item (standard financial process). In the Federal Government, the TAS field was optional for ~$4.7 Trillion in payments and was often left blank, making traceability almost impossible. As of Saturday, this is now a required field, increasing insight into where money is actually going. Thanks to @USTreasury for the great work.

It’s a surprise that America is still standing with such gross inefficiency at work in our highest levels of government. Because of Elon and DOGE, we now know the Treasury wasn’t tracking payments to different government agencies, making it impossible to reconcile payments with budget line items.

Imagine if you owned a small business and you couldn’t document where your payments went. Do you know who’s going to be knocking on your door? Some of the 87,000 IRS agents that the Biden Administration hired. And they’d be breathing down your neck for $47,000 as opposed to $4.7 trillion.

Fortunately, the Treasury has heeded DOGE’s calls to start tracking payments. On his X account, Musk praised the U.S. Treasury compliance, posting:

Major improvement in Treasury payment integrity going live! This was a combined effort of @DOGE, @USTreasury and @FederalReserve. Nice work by all.

Let’s hope that the Treasury can operate more efficiently now. Let’s not forget that the American people mandated that President Trump rid the government of wasteful spending and incompetence.

In related news, the federal judge who oversaw Trump’s election interference case will rule if Musk and DOGE can keep gutting the bureaucratic Deep State. Indications are that the judge – who was no friend of Trump during the election interference case – could strike down the 14 states’ federal lawsuit to shut down DOGE.

ACLJ Senior Counsel and Director of Policy Harry Hutchison explained further:

Surprisingly enough, [the judge] seems like she is prepared to follow the Constitution. . . . The President of the United States is a unitary Executive under Article 2 of the Constitution. And now we have 14 states that are claiming that the President lacks the authority to provide oversight and, perhaps, to fire federal employees. The predicate to their claim is they must show irreparable harm, and this particular judge does not believe that they can muster sufficient evidence in support of their claim and, at least on a preliminary basis, she is inclined to basically dismiss the temporary restraining order request by the 14 states.

As states seek to circumvent DOGE’s mission, the ACLJ is defending DOGE in the courts. We have filed four amicus briefs in federal courts nationwide to fight back. Our briefs explain how DOGE falls under the Executive branch’s purview and must be allowed to proceed.

We’re asking the courts to deny these attempts to undermine presidential authority and maintain the proper constitutional balance of powers established by our Founders. Join us in court by signing our petition to defend DOGE.

Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of DOGE discovering that the Treasury Department has $4.7 trillion in payments that are “almost impossible” to trace. Former Acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell joined to discuss the possible peace deal negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
