DNI Tulsi Gabbard Declares ‘That Ends Now’ on Fiery X Post
Listen tothis article
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard (our former Sekulow colleague) posted on X that her agency is “aggressively pursuing recent leakers” who are compromising U.S. intelligence. Regarding the lack of accountability for leakers, Tulsi said, “That ends now.” Will she be able to purge the Deep State intel community?
Here is Tulsi’s full post:
Our nation’s Intelligence Community must be focused on our national security mission. Politically motivated leaks undermine our national security and the trust of the American people, and will not be tolerated.
Unfortunately, such leaks have become commonplace with no investigation or accountability. That ends now. We know of and are aggressively pursuing recent leakers from within the Intelligence Community and will hold them accountable.
Some recent examples of unauthorized leaks within the IC:
- A leaker who has been sharing classified information with the Huffington Post
- A leaker within the IC sharing information on Israel / Iran with the Washington Post
- A leaker within the IC sharing information about the U.S. - Russia relationship with NBC
- A leaker sharing information on NCSC activities and actions with The Record
Any unauthorized release of classified information is a violation of the law and will be treated as such.
The Hill, reportingon Tulsi’s warning to leakers, had the audacity to write: “In her X post, Gabbard provided little insight into why she felt the leaks were politically motivated.” Are you kidding me? All these leaks have been nothing but “politically motivated” for the last several years!
Such leaks were too frequent during President Trump’s first term and the Biden Administration. I’ll never forget the leak of the Dobbs decision that sparked outrage among abortion activists. Even former FBI Director James Comey leaked official agency documents to the press – with zero repercussions.
So enough is enough when it comes to these outrageous leaks. And it’s exciting to have someone in charge who is committed to the truth and willing to prosecute leakers to the full extent of the law.
Tulsi has already taken drastic measures within her agency, recently firing more than 100 intelligence officials who were abusing an NSA message board to engage in sexually explicit chats. And CNN recently expressed concern that fired CIA officials would sell government secrets to China. If former intelligence officials are willing to betray their country, then they shouldn’t be employed in the first place. So good riddance.
Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo spoke of the danger of intelligence leaks:
We suffered [leaks] nearly every day, less frankly, when I was at the CIA than when I was at the State Department, [which] was a constant conduit of leaks to The New York Times and Washington Post, years and years of pattern and practice where these folks just felt completely free to tell whatever story they wanted to those folks to undermine . . . President Trump. . . . I applaud everyone from this Administration who’s going to identify the leakers and punish them for violating U.S. law. . . .
All the folks who take U.S. secrets, lawfully protected secrets, and just leak them because they have a particular view of the world, that’s not appropriate. There are methods. If you see something going on that’s wrong, there’s a way to do that. It is not to go tell The New York Times and Washington Post to try to get your preferred policy outcome. That is indecent. It violates U.S. law, and I hope they . . . get the appropriate punishment for having put American lives at risk and American foreign policy at risk.
I fully expect Tulsi to recommend that AG Pam Bondi prosecute future leakers. This is not an empty threat. We don’t need our nation’s secrets leaked to The New York Times or The Washington Post – or our foreign adversaries.
Today is a big day for the ACLJ, as we are filing one of our biggest lawsuits ever to protect religious liberty. Brett Raio, a street preacher in Chicago, was arrested for sharing his faith. We went to court and got the charges thrown out. But the very next day, Chicago police arrested two more preachers, who sat in jail for hours.
A pattern of religious targeting is clearly occurring against street preachers in Chicago, and we are making sure it stops. That’s why we’re filing a major civil rights lawsuit against Chicago to defend preachers.
We need your support as we defend religious liberty. Donate during our Life & Liberty Drive – gifts are doubled. Your gift will fund our legal fight to stop street preachers from being put in jail.
