An IRS Agent Was STOPPED From Investigating "Dad" in Biden Probe
Once again, we’re hearing reports from an IRS whistleblower claiming that the Deep State IRS covered for Hunter Biden, as well as his dad, President Joe Biden. Special Agent Gary Shapley, who’s served 14 years at the IRS, just came forward with a bombshell claim that his investigation into Hunter Biden was stymied by the Deep State agency.
The IRS supervisory agent who helped oversee the investigation of Hunter Biden continues to raise questions about what he alleged was special treatment in the probe of the president's son, telling CBS News that, dating back to the Trump administration, he was repeatedly prevented from taking steps he would have considered routine in other cases.
"We have to make sure as a special agent for IRS Criminal Investigation that we treat every single person exactly the same," said Gary Shapley, a 14-year veteran of the agency, who spoke exclusively to CBS News chief investigative correspondent Jim Axelrod on Tuesday. "And that just simply didn't happen here."
Shapley's comments come a week after the Trump-appointed U.S. attorney for Delaware, David Weiss, who has been leading the probe, announced a plea deal in the case against Hunter Biden. A Republican who said he has no political motive and has never been engaged in politics, Shapley told CBS News he believes stronger charges could have been brought.
As Shapley also told CBS: “Based on my experience, if this was a small business owner or any other non-connected individual, they would have been charged with felony counts.”
If Shapley is telling the truth, which his account certainly seems to match up with the history of this seemingly never-ending investigation into Hunter Biden, it is a big problem and could have major repercussions as we head into the 2024 Presidential campaign.
Of course, for his part Attorney General Merrick Garland is claiming that U.S. Attorney David Weiss had full authority to investigate Hunter Biden, and in any jurisdiction he deemed necessary. But this does not match up with what Weiss himself has reportedly said, or what these whistleblowers are now saying, which seems to corroborate what Weiss reportedly claimed previously.
As my dad, ACLJ Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow explained, the corruption and political bias within the Deep State FBI is too rampant, and too dangerous, to be swept under the rug any longer:
This is a big deal. Either he had the authority to do whatever he needed, like a Special Counsel would – they still need to report to the Department of Justice – or he didn’t. He was denied Special Counsel status, that’s number one. But he was also denied the ability to bring cases in other jurisdictions because you have to bring the case where the crime was committed. Now what’s also interesting about that, couple that with the IRS agent who was the special agent in charge saying hey they wouldn’t let us continue statute of limitations. They have limited the amount of investigations we can do. This is very serious, and this is where congressional oversight, and we will work with Congress, is very important.
Today’s full Sekulow broadcast includes further analysis of these latest bombshell claims that the Deep State is protecting the Biden family from criminal charges. We are also joined by ACLJ Senior Counsel for Global Affairs, and former Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo to discuss the current drama unfolding in Russia.
