ACLJ Client Sued for Telling Truth About Grotesque Charlie Kirk Celebration

Amelia Island Coffee v. Buchanan
ACLJ Client Sued for Telling Truth About Grotesque Charlie Kirk Celebration
STATUS:
Ongoing

The ACLJ is stepping in to defend a client being sued for defamation after speaking out about what he witnessed. While at a coffee shop with his family, our client saw another customer wearing a shirt widely seen as celebrating Charlie Kirk’s assassination and overheard an employee express approval, stating she “loved” it after the individual said he was “celebrating.” Our client then did what Americans do every day: He exercised his freedom of speech on Facebook. While the coffee shop does not deny the key facts of this case, it has responded by suing our client. Our client’s speech is protected – and we are prepared to defend it.
