Attorney: IRS Scandal Goes Beyond Cincinnati

Requests for information about conservative 501 (c) groups also came from outside the Internal Revenue Service's Cincinatti office, and at least one letter of request was signed by Director of the IRS Exempt Organizations Department Lois Lerner, who is currently on administrative leave, according to an attorney representing some of the conservative groups targeted by the agency.
The attorney, Jay Sekulow, provided NBC News with some of the letters the IRS sent to his clients. Lerner's signature appears on a letter sent to Ohio Liberty Council Corp requesting additional information for its tax-exempt status application.
Sekulow said that he has dealt with 15 agents from four different offices, including the Treasury Department in Washington, D.C., "so the idea that this is a couple of rogue agents in Cincinnati is not correct.”. . .
