Finally, after more than two years since COVID-19 devastated the entire planet, the World Health Organization (WHO) has announced it will investigate whether the Coronavirus originated in – and then leaked from – a laboratory in Wuhan, China.

Of course the question is, will China even cooperate with such an investigation? They’re actually trying to make the world believe that the U.S. created Coronavirus. As we recently reported, China now essentially controls WHO anyway so what are the odds we’ll ever know the truth?

They’ve already gone on the offensive. A Chinese spokesperson stated that “the lab leak theory is totally a lie concocted by anti-China forces for political purposes, which has nothing to do with science.”

I’d argue it’s a fair question to ask where this virus came from.

Remember there was a time when just suggesting that COVID-19 originated in a Chinese lab would get you flagged on social media, and branded as spreading disinformation. And now, finally, even WHO is coming around to the idea that, actually yes, maybe this virus was created in a lab.

Ask yourself for a moment which is the more likely scenario: that scientists in a biochemical lab in China – a country we already know has little regard for human rights – created COVID-19, for whatever reason, through some form of viral experimentation, or that this insanely powerful virus that wreaked havoc on the world just popped into existence in an unsanitary wet market?

At this point it’s very difficult to find a single person whose life wasn’t adversely affected by COVID-19. Even those who’ve been lucky enough, to date, to avoid catching it, have known people that did. Many of us have even lost loved ones  – even my family. Don’t we all deserve to know where this thing came from, and if its release was simply negligence, or worse, intentional?

And yes, if it is determined that this virus did NOT come from a wet market but was created in a laboratory, then that government must be held accountable. If a government accidentally launched a missile at another country, don’t you think the whole world would demand that country step up and take responsibility, not to mention pay some form of remediation? Coronavirus certainly claimed more casualties than any missile.

ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell explained why he believes WHO is finally challenging China on COVID-19:

Look, there’s a long history of the Chinese controlling the World Health Organization through the elections at the U.N. They have really tried to implement their Chinese strategy of controlling U.N. agencies and they’ve done a pretty good job of it.

In April of 2020 during the Trump Administration when I was acting Director of National Intelligence, we issued a statement, an intelligence community wide statement, saying that the “Wuhan virus”, the Coronavirus, all started in Wuhan. And it was because of two possibilities, and this was an intelligence-wide assessment. One was animal-to-human transmission, and the other was the Wuhan lab.

We knew at the time that the Wuhan lab was the likely place. That has only increased over the years. For WHO to come around now, and finally come to the assessment that we’ve known for years just signifies that they are not paying attention to real facts. They’re controlled by the Chinese, and they finally really couldn’t bear the embarrassment of continuing down this road of denying the facts. Every country, even the Germans and Europeans now, are literally looking at the facts and understanding them. So they were in danger of really losing the credibility of the rest of the world if they didn’t catch up. It was sheer embarrassment for WHO to completely change their thinking.

While on the one hand it’s gratifying that WHO is finally coming around to agreeing with the rational world, the problem is it’s likely too late. Even if China does agree to cooperate with an investigation, any evidence of substance was most likely destroyed long ago.

Today’s full Sekulow broadcast includes even more in-depth discussion of WHO’s announcement, including more expert analysis by former acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell, and how, if possible, China can be pressured to cooperate and not gaslight the entire world.
