The Hamas Sympathizers Serving in Congress

Two House lawmakers were the lone votes against a bill that will stop Hamas terrorists involved in the Israel massacre from ever coming into the United States. It will also ban members of Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

The measure, introduced by California Rep. Tom McClintock (CA-5), is literally called the No Immigration Benefits for Hamas Terrorists Act and should have passed unanimously. The final tally was 422-2.

Can you guess who opposed this commonsense bill? “Squad” members Reps. Rashida Tlaib (MI-12) and Cori Bush (MO-1).

Let’s revisit what happened in Israel on October 7, 2023, so we can fully comprehend the fact that they have no issue letting monsters into the United States.

As the sunlight ushered in a new day on a sacred Jewish holiday, Hamas terrorists, armed with bombs and machine guns, stormed the kibbutzim. As parents took their first sips of coffee and children just opened their eyes, masked men forced their way into homes to torture and kill entire families.

At the Nova Music Festival in Southern Israel, people danced with friends until Hamas surrounded them. Terrorists blocked every possible escape route. As guns started going off and rockets began flying, terrified concertgoers evacuated. When the smoke cleared, lifeless bodies lined the fields and roadways.

Women were raped and killed – their bodies were paraded through the streets of Gaza. Babies were ripped from their mother’s arms and taken hostage. More than 1,000 innocent people were brutally murdered. Hundreds were kidnapped.

But none of this matters to Tlaib and Bush. They are Hamas sympathizers.

Tlaib released a pathetic statement attempting to justify her vote:

H.R. 6679 is unnecessary because it is redundant with already existing federal law. It’s just another GOP messaging bill being used to incite anti-Arab, anti-Palestinian, and anti-Muslim hatred that makes communities like ours unsafe.

Bush essentially said the same thing:

I opposed H.R. 6679 because it is a redundant, empty messaging bill Republicans are using to target immigrants and incite anti-Palestinian hate.

Republicans have ZERO credibility on these issues.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Rep. Tlaib has sparked controversy for espousing antisemitic tropes. It appears from her statements and actions that she loves terrorists and hates Israel. In August of 2021, I told you about horrific comments that she made at the Democratic Socialists National Convention:

“We also need to recognize – and this is for me as a Palestinian American – we also need to recognize as I think about my family and Palestine that continue to live under military occupation and how that really interacts with this beautiful Black city that I grew up in,” Tlaib began, referring to her hometown of Detroit. “You know, I always tell people, cutting people off from water is violence from Gaza to Detroit. And it’s a way to control people, to oppress people. And it’s those structures that we continue to fight against.

“I know that you all understand the structure that we’ve been living under right now is designed by those that exploit the rest of us for their own profit,” Tlaib continued. “I don’t care if it’s the issue around global human rights and our fight to free Palestine or to pushing back against those that don’t believe in the minimum wage or those that believe that people have a right to health care and so much more. And I tell people, those same people, that if you open the curtain and look behind the curtain, it’s the same people that make money and, yes they do, off of racism, off of these broken policies. There is someone there making money and you saw it! . . .”

I explained that “the phrase ‘behind the curtain’ is a racist trope that the Jews control everything and essentially act as puppeteers pulling strings.” Such antisemitic propaganda is disgusting.

Tlaib also said that she gets a “calming feeling” when thinking about the Holocaust, and she has tried to shut down American charities that provide support to Israeli organizations.

But, again, she’s just fine with Hamas terrorists invading our neighborhoods.

The fact that Reps. Tlaib and Bush continue to spew these hateful messages makes me sick. They have made it crystal clear that they do not love this country and are willing to contribute to its downfall. The ACLJ is calling for “Squad” Members like Tlaib and Bush who promote antisemitic tropes to be censured by Congress.

The ACLJ stands with Israel against Left antisemitic propaganda espoused by Members of Congress such as Tlaib and Bush. We will also never stop advocating for national security measures that keep Americans safe from terrorist threats.
