One News Now - 9/11 Cross Mentally, Physically Sickening, Says Atheist Group
By Charlie Butts, OneNewsNow.com
The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) is asking a federal court to dismiss an atheist group's lawsuit against a New York City museum displaying the 9/11 cross composed of two intersecting steel beams that survived the twin towers' collapse in 2001.
The beams became a symbol of hope and a historical artifact of what happened on that day, and the structure was to be displayed at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. But Jordan Sekulow of the ACLJ says the American Atheist Association is demanding that a symbol of atheism, perhaps a large "A," ought to also be displayed, or that the cross be taken down "because it makes them both physically and mentally sick." Sekulow says that is "literally what is in their legal complaint.". . .
Sekulow adds that other atheists have questioned the group's seriousness and suggest it makes them look like they are out of touch on First Amendment issues. . . .
