Examiner - Judge Says Montana's Big Mountain Jesus Can Stay

The famous Big Mountain Jesus of Montana is free to remain in place on federally owned land for at least 10 more years, according to a judge’s June 25 ruling in Missoula. The decision affirmed a U.S. Forest Service permit for the monument.
The Freedom from Religion Foundation (FRFF), a Wisconsin-based atheist and agnostic group, had sued to have the statue removed from the Northwest Montana site. The giant Jesus has stood on a ski hill in Whitefish Mountain Resort on Big Mountain for almost 60 years. . . .
The American Center for Law and Justice took up the cause, having previously defended the Big Mountain Jesus statue from atheist opposition. The ACLJ posted an online petition that drew more than 113,000 signatures. . . .
