I want to let you know that we have filed a brief with the federal court in Florida hearing the Terri Schiavo matter.  Our brief, which is posted online, supports the Department of Justice and the parents of Terri Schiavo in their effort to have Terri's feeding tube restored.  Terri's nutrition and hydration tubes were removed Friday by a Florida court order.

The fact that this case is now in federal court gives Terri and her family an important opportunity to raise critical issues in her defense.  The first order of business, however, is to get Terri's feeding tube restored.

Minutes before the court hearing began in Florida, I received confirmation that our brief had been received by the court.  In addition to representing the ACLJ, we represent Congressman Dave Weldon of Florida, one of the key sponsors of Terri's Law.  This is the first step in a long legal process and I want you to know that we have formed the Committee to Defend the Constitutionality of Terri's Law.  As the litigation continues, we will be filing additional briefs and want you to join with us in that effort.  Add your name right now to our Committee to Defend Terri's Law.  You can add your name online at our website or call toll free at 1-877-989-2255.

I will keep you posted regarding any developments in court this afternoon.  Updates to be posted right here in the trial notebook section of our site.
