This important piece of legislation was initially introduced into the 108th Congress and is scheduled to be reintroduced into the 109th Congress by Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS) and Representative Chris Smith (R-NJ).  The bill would require an abortionist to provide specified information to any woman seeking an abortion at 20 weeks or later, regarding the pain that would be inflicted on the baby, and to obtain a signed form accepting or rejecting the administration of pain-relieving drugs to the baby.  The ACLJ will work aggressively for passage of this measure.
